10-3 isn't good because of a soft sked, what is USC soft sked with one loss? National champion.. ohhh why the contrast?

Thats not true, they did play Auburn . Thanks for leaving me a loophole to bash Auburn

Re: Corn Coast Offense

USC had no where near a softer schedule. And this year the disparity is even bigger.

Congrats on Nebraska playing Western Illinois this year. The Big 12 is known for it's soft out of conference schedule. With Colorado being hte notable exception historically.

At least USC attempts to schedule tougher teams. Who knew, Auburn, BYU and Notre Dame were going to suffer such large dropoffs last year. They were all Bowl teams the year before. Hell Auburn was favored to battle for the National Championship.

Nebraska scheduled, Utah St. Troy St, Penn St and Southern Miss. With the exception of possibly Southern Miss, they knew they were scheduling soft opponents from the start.

And in conference play? It amazes me how people seem to so quickly forget that you play more games in conference than out.. the reason that mid majors aren't in National title games, conference play is really important.. USC had nowhere as tough as In conference schedule as Nebraska...

Again the Big 12 was not as strong as advertised, as proved by their post season performance. The Pac 10 unlike the Big 12 actually won some bowl games last year. The tough conference argument no longer holds water.

Keep going to games like the Alamo Bowl, and they have a decent shot at it.

Re: Corn Coast Offense

Oh please, if you actually believe that the Bowl's reflect conference strength your naive.. and your naive if you believe the PAC 10 and Big 12 are equally difficult.

Kansas-The weakest team in a Bowl for the Big 12 los tto NC State, a team that struggled against teams early and racked up some losses, but Rivers, TAMC, And Jerrico Cotchery and nothing to sneeze at no matter what.

Oregon State-3rd best PAC 10 team, play New Mexico...

Cal- Played Virginia Tech and won by 3, a Virginia Tech team that was on a downward spiral that they take every year it seems.

Nebraska-Beat a Michigan State team that ended up 8-5... in the Big 10 5-3 pretty good...Including wins over Iowa and MInneasota, and losses to Michigan and Ohio state as two of their losses...

Texas Tech- Beat Navy... not much to say.. like Oregon State only TT is int he bottom of the Big 12 bowl teams...

Texas Lost to Washington State: Not really that suprising since Mack Brown likes to play musical quarterbacks...

UCLA-Lost to Fresno State.. a midmajor

MIzzou lost to a really good Arkansas team...

OK State lost to a Ole MIss team by 3 that was better than them..

USC beat Michigan: They are National Champs

Kansas State lost to Ohio State: Ohio State is a really good team and only by a touchdown..

Oklahoma Lost national champs LSU...

PAC 10 4-1.... two wins over mid majors.. one the team I'm not disputing is really good.. and one over a obviously declining VT team by 3... not very impressive.

Big 12: 2-6.. the record not very impressive: but 8 out of 12 teams in Bowls is better than 5 out of 10 right? plus add the fact that the Big 12 played much better teams in the Bowls and had two teams in BCS bowls as compared to PAC 10 1... a lot of people think the Big 12 was better than the Pac 10...

Never said the Pac 10 was better. Said the Big 12 was overrated. Which they are. They don't play anyone out of conference, then they go and get their asses handed to them in the Bowl season. They are not as superior to the Pac 10 or any other conference as people make them out to be.
