I think EA just didn't think to put in a name generator. It eventually does when recruits start coming in during dynasties.

No, it's not a violation to use fake names. I guess maybe EA Sports just isn't getting enough demand for it to put that in the game.

Well, I use blacklover's rosters so it's not a biggie for me.

I wrote up a quick "team generator" for a baseball simulator I started working on.

It took only a few hours to have the random teams filled with names. Of course, if I had worked on it for a few more hours I could've avoided names like Juan Johnson and Bob Hernandez.

I really don't know why they don't have that option as it doesn't take all that long to implement. It wouldn't take that long to do ( a few hours for a very basic one). I guess demand is the reason they don't.

This is something I would like to see. I like to use BL's and Lindners rosters also but to just play the game out of the box (until the rosters are ready) and have to see RB #3, etc is irritating.

This is an option I would like to see, as well. I wouldn't mind having fake names, then just renaming my own team and the top 100 players ....

IT would be cool, but these days with AR most people seem to get the real names within a few days so maybe they feel it's not that important.

To be honest, the "QB #4" stuff never bothered me. I usually name Michigan's entire roster, and the best players/units on other teams (ie. USC's D-Line). I know pretty much who any key player on a team is, so when "SS #20" lays the wood to me, I know it's Darnell Bing. I don't need to name entire rosters to know that.

I guess it would be pretty cool if we could have the name generator, but I never really used it on ESPN College Hoops.
