What is the big deal about ROSTER downloads, etc.?

I keep reading all of these posts about rosters and such, and I don't understand what people are doing.

My guess is that people want the players to have names - if this is all people are getting, then I don't understand what the big deal is. Heck, by the fourth year or so 'recruited' players make up the entire roster.

Is there something I'm missing?

Kevin

it last more than 4 years if you draft players into madden.

plus the names show up online.. the rewards are endless.

Not really that big a deal with me, I had sharkport and never even used it.

For me I find it alot easier to remember #'s then names. I only play online so it's a lot easier to write down #'s for league games etc.

DT's rosters just go into so much detail. Correct depth charts, names, numbers, attributes, equipment, appereance, etc. DT just fixes the mistakes that EA has made and makes the game feel a lot more realistic. Plus it's great to hear the announcers say players names, like "Sproles on the run!", instead of "#43 on the run!".

Re: What is the big deal about ROSTER downloads, etc.?

I really enjoy it because it makes the players more interactive. Instead of getting sacked 3 times by #47 you can scream DAVID POLLACK IS A D-BAG, etc. Also, if you follow college football it is pretty fun to see how the real players stats relate to those simd/attained in your franchise.

And if you follow the NFL draft, the player ratings provide a rough idea on who you should be keeping an eye on. Therefore it is pretty handy to have their names available.

Couldn't imagine playing NCAA with #3 etc...Really just thinking about tryin to play like that makes me sick,no fun what so ever. For whoever said whats the big deal about players names must not follow college football. Its like playing madden with #84,24 etc just not fun

Exactly the opposite, I do follow college football thats why I don't need the names. I put in my fav teams but beyond that I could care less.
