It is just a set of rules that you come up with or borrow from others here that affects how you recruit. Say you have a 1 star program, you have to only recruit instate. If you are 2 star you can recruit any state touching yours, and so on. You can limit how many you can recruit each year or at one time... Just whatever makes it more challenging to you.

Re: Recruiting house rules?

I only use a couple of recruiting house rules, and they make things more interesting and realistic.

1. The recruit must have me in their top 10 for me to approach them
- it keeps me from being able to recruit players way out of our league

2. Every player on my board gets a scholarship offer.
- i don't know if this is realistic or anything, i've just always done it. i suppose it makes me pick my board players wisely.

3. I cannot scout a player until they commit to us
- it makes getting a gem so much more exciting, and it brings the possibility of recruiting a heartbreaking bust

4. I cannot recruit ATH's to play QB
- there are too many ath's that are very fast and can throw like a 5-star pocket passer. it just isn't realistic.

I like these rules. I've pretty much always offered a scholarship to every player on my board anyway, as it is a good meter to show if they are going to be truly interested (if the offer doesn't move their interest up a few notches, I likely won't land them). The scouting thing...I think I will try that on my next one.

Re: Recruiting house rules?

does anyone know how to avoid players getting scouting during the recruiting process. Every time I enter week one and I always have random players scouted. I thought there would have been a setting for this, and if there is, I cannot find it.

Do not add players to your board until week one. It auto assigns any unused points when you advance the week. For the preseason, the only thing the points are for is scouting.
