Academic Prestige

Anyone have luck with improving Academic Prestige? The "how to improve rating" section under "My School" states that Academic Prestige can increase by signing students who don't have to wait long to start?

Is this accurate and how do you exploit this to improve academic prestige?

Pretty sure, like Campus Lifestyle, it doesn't change unless you use the editor.

Re: Academic Prestige

If you are playing with a bad school like Eastern Michigan or any of the teams rated in the 60's it raises out of necessity because most of the time you can't redshirt freshman and the like.

So the easy way to raise it is to play a true freshman when you recruit them. Or if you get a gem prospect.

Re: Academic Prestige

you can raise it by playing lots of players that you signed the previous year especially if they start as freshman or juco transfers. I recently had a team with around 20 seniors and all but a few started for me. so the next season i basically had a completely new team and my academic prestige went from a B to a B+

Re: Academic Prestige

Interesting. Going to test sensitivity by making all my freshman starters at the end of the season before the grades update.

Re: Academic Prestige

From my experience, the fewer players I red shirt the better my academic prestige gets.

The game says something to the effect of "raise this by signing players who don't have to wait long to start."

What it really means is "get them in and out in 4 years." Basically by redshirting you extend their college experience, thus making it take longer to graduate and therefore prestige goes down.

I've had dynasties where I don't redshirt guys for a few years and my academic prestige goes up, even if those players are benchwarmers. Then I become a powerhouse and start redshirting 15-20 players each year. The prestige starts to go down.

Re: Academic Prestige

I had heard in some of the older versions that signing players who had a high interest in academics would raise academic prestige but I haven't found anything more about this mentioned anywhere so I suspect that was just rumor.

Re: Academic Prestige

For your academic prestige, you just have to recruit true freshmen who can start early on to increase it. Usually top-tier programs like Michigan will have a higher academic prestige despite a low chance to start as a true freshman because of IRL academic standings.
