I'm lucky if I can get a game in now or even look at rosters. I'm getting the DDE's like crazy. I DO have that first generation DVD drive so I'm sure that's the problem. It gives me problems sometimes with other games but with this game it's insane!

Can I replace it with any DVD drive or is there a particular one I should use. Your help is appreciated as I'm gonna lose it!

Yes, you could replace it with any dvd drive. Best bet is to look it up on ebay. Honestly, I would just trade in the Xbox for a new one.

Try running a CD cleaner disc. They cost 5 buck and may solve your problems...

you have to buy a proprietary DVD drive any one will not just work check search google for the samsung DVD drive replacement they cost 100.00 plus shipping so you prolly just better off trading your box in for store credit then buying a new one.

DAMMIT! I'm getting DDE's like crazy too, and I've not had the problem with other games.

I am having no problems even on my old thompson drive, LOL lets just say its really old. When I turn on my system the dvd rom makes a terrible sound, but it still plays all my games fine.
