Getting in trouble with the NCAA

An experiment into NCAA punishments

I didn't do anything to players for three years. After the first year, the NCAA levied a penalty of "10 less scholarships over two years".

By the end of the third year, the bar had become full. At the end of the season, the NCAA laid the hammer down.

Here's what followed...

Scholarships: 20 less for 3 years
TV Games: No televised games for 2 years
Bowls/Championship Games: None for 2 years

I did this experiment with Ohio State.

I'm going for the death penalty next, althought I'm not sure if it's in the game. Let this be a lesson to you...

There's a glitch...

Although it said no bowl for me, it gave me a bid, and I won the National Championship.

Hopefully it's just for the national title game and not all the other bowls.

Maybe the penalties were for the next year not the current one?

Re: Getting in trouble with the NCAA

No, they didn't carry over either. I'm down to one year, and I've gone to a national championship game every year I've had the ban.

Good news is...

I won't be making a national championship game this year due to already having two losses. Also, I'm down to a 48 man roster.

The death penalty (in real life) is handed out if you get two major back-to-back violations. So, I'll get another one after this one expires and let you know what happens.

They did live up to one part of the sanction, I don't have any televised games, I checked that. Even 1 vs 2 matchups aren't on.

When a college team is in troulbe like that they are still ranked in the AP poll. You can still win a title as long as they vote you first at the end of the season.
