i don't think they're supposed to show up online
only in the off-line modes
but i haven't seen any yet either

You can only see them when you initiate a mild fan celebration after a big play. You won't see create-a-signs done by defauly by the comp, it's all manual.

I must say, though, that I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing the cutscenes featuring the fans...
