Re: Need help beating my friend

Spying one guy is hard enough because I can't get pressure with my 4 dlinemen. The problem is he waits back in the pocket for like 10 seconds and throws a 40 yard bomb to one his recievers and my DB always misses it.

Re: Need help beating my friend

Well, here is an idea for you. My first priority would be to shut down the long pass. I would probably use a cover 3 out of the dime package. This would give you 3 deep guys in zone and would force him to complete underneath routes for shorter gains. Now, i know you mention that if you had him covered deep, that he would just run with Shockley around the end (i hate this too). I would suggest that you use the middle linebacker in that cover 3....and you control him. Just forfeit his area of the zone (which would be a short route anyway) and use him as a spy. This would take away the run and help with the deep ball. It would also force him to change his game style and then you could start mixing your defenses up.

Hope that helps:

The sad thing is that he throws bombs to the area where only one db is near him in cover 3.

Re: Need help beating my friend

First, help with your defense. If this is all he is doing, select dime fire 2. Spread your defensive line out, and control your MLB...move the MLB back pretty deep (20 yards off the LOS) before the snap and watch things unfold....as soon as he makes a move left or right with his QB, move your MLB deep in that direction and then switch to the blitzing DB, forcing the QB to chuck it deep. The hyperactive zone defense behind you will take it from there if he decides to pass (note that your MLB will be a part of this zone that sprints toward the intended receiver).

On offense, do not neglect your fullback, as he is possibly the most dynamic player on the Miami offense. Two great plays to use with him... weak twins FB over, and weak twins PA fullback wheel. On the latter play, a linebacker will usually be attempting to cover the 87 SPD fullback...which is futile. Also remember that the TE is great on Miami and that you should substitute either #16 (Wright) or #18 (Crudup) for #7 (Berlin). I prefer Wright's stronger arm...

Hope this helps you out...let us know how it goes!

Re: Need help beating my friend

I hope it gets better because he is just killin me. I lost 41-3 the last game, I practiced for an hour in practice mode. On offense I put Crudup in because of his arm and compousure. I try to use Gore and Hill on the ground but Pollack and the rest of the Dline just eat up my oline. I'm going to try that Dime blitzing and look at other plays to use. If that doesn't work I'll just ask him to play mvp and whoop his but in that game.
