Why no patch for 4 team playoff?

Yes. That would be a show stopper. So legally I get it. But I'm not necessarily buying the business & programming reason. Maybe Ed O'Bannon could finance it from the windfall he got from the lawsuit?

Do they still sell the game? I honestly have no idea. Obviously you can buy used copies & I'd suspect the demand for a three year old football game is pretty low as most stores probably don't stock games that old.

Fun fact - one of the early versions of the game, I want to say NCAA '96, had the option to play a 16-team tournament at the end of the season.

I don't get why people don't understand that EA doesn't have people working on this game. A patch cannot happen because there is basically no team working on NCAA 14 anymore, and if they won't make money on it, why would they assign people to patch something into a three year old football game?

The reporting at the time indicated that half the NCAA Football team at Tiburon got merged into the Madden NFL team, while the other half got laid off.

Based on that, there is literally no team in place to create a patch to add the four-team playoff into the game, regardless of any legal ramifications, development timeline, or anything else.

I bought my game on the PS store two months ago for $20 so they are still making $$ off of it. I would have paid $100 for a patch with a 4 team playoff.
