Another IGN Review

I'm in the same boat as everyone else here. As great a game as 2004 was, it makes me sad to see what they did to 2005. They had a chance to make this game one of the greatest, and they took one step forward and two steps back. I know for a fact I would have still been playin 2004 until this July had I not worn it out.

There was something special about 2004. It was fun to play all the time. I went 12 years into my dynasty with FSU and was still having a blast.

The WRs caught the ball, the DBs reacted pretty well, and the CPU offense had a clue. There weren't that many triple coverage magical recptions. Sure, you had your shootouts, but then you could turn around and only put 17 points in your next game.

That's what made that game so much fun. Not air tight zone coverage. Not an insane amount of dropped passes. Not a CPU offense that plays like some cheesers do online(drop back and chuck it deep, he'll catch it).

If they would have given me 2004 with HFA, harder recruiting, and updated rosters, I would have been as giddy as a schoolgirl. But now, I'm as bitter as an old man.

I'll continue to play NCAA 2005, but I'll always think about what could have been.

Buuuuuut, I like 2005 better than 2004. But I didn't at first. Last year pretty much all outcomes were predetermined. Not many upsets, if you had a 6* program you could roll everyone, you would rush for 300 and pass for400 every game and beat the other top teams 45-10. Now I feel you can get upset more and earn an upset as well.

But that's just me.
