Re: NCAA Editor help (Object reference not set to an instance of an object)

It could be that there are duplicate players on your roster file. An easy way of checked my is by using the Madden 12 Editor. It has a search for duplicates by Player ID function. Worth a shot.

Re: NCAA Editor help (Object reference not set to an instance of an object)

Many PGID duplicates are the result of a player being on one team while the same PGID is on practice teams (TGID 300-311, 400-411) or not being on a team (TGID 1023).

Something that works - but you have to been doing this before you get the errors - is "yearly maintenance." In the preseason, get rid of the players from those teams. If you highlight the player the right-click, you can get the option to delete the player. Just be sure you are deleting the correct player. (I've made that mistake before and it really messed stuff up.)

As TarHeelPhenom mentioned, the Madden 12 editor can be used to eliminate duplicate IDs. The Madden 12 editor is a much easier option instead of using the NCAA Editor to remove players one at a time.

I can confirm once the player table (PLAY) reaches a certain size, errors pop up in the editor. The table itself is mostly fine. You can still play games. You can still export the csv, make edits, and import the csv. It just isn't possible to make changes or mass edits inside the editor.

Re: NCAA Editor help (Object reference not set to an instance of an object)

Good to know. When I made it to the next year's preseason, the problem was gone and I was able to run everything as normal. So it did seem to be temporary at least.

I'm having the same issue. I tried looking for duplicates with the madden 12 editor, and found a bunch, but I'm not sure how to delete them.

Re: NCAA Editor help (Object reference not set to an instance of an object)

After removing duplicate players, it seems the dynasty file is now corrupted. (And I forgot to back it up.)

If I click continue I can still edit it just fine, but it doesn't work in game. I've attached the file. I get this error when loading it with the editor:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

Hey man, I just took a look at your Dynasty file. At first I was only able to load it in Skulls version of the editor, but not the Dynasty editor. So, I loaded it up in the Madden 12 Editor and you still had like 4 duplicates. So, I deleted them and tried to reload it into the Dynasty editor and it worked. So, you should be good to go. Whenever you are looking for duplicates in the Madden 12 Editor, always look under "New" because that's where they will be and you can delete them right there. Now all you have to do is complete the step of putting your edited file into the HxD Hex editor along with an unedited version of the dynasty file and it should work in game. Here is your file back...

Wow! Thank you so much! Couple quick things, when I searched for dupes, I couldn't figure out how to delete players from the window that showed me for the results. I searched for them in the main window and deleted them there.

Next, what you're mentioning with the HxD Hex editor is entirely new to me. I've always just replaced the Dynasty file using Modio. Will this not work when players are deleted? I don't have an unedited version of the dynasty file, either. (I thought my backup in game was up to date, it wasn't )

Thanks again.
