Quick Tip: Unlock the lock on the LAYERS tab on the right (This may take a few clicks, the lock should turn into a check) and use the WAND tool to create your transparent layers by pressing the DELETE key after the WAND has made the right selection... mess with the TOLERANCE level in the top right when using the WAND tool... Dont forget to EDIT>UNDO a WAND selection if it is wrong, before trying again... and make sure you save it as a PNG file when you FILE>SAVE it.

The more crisp the image is, the better.

It allows you to add effects to pics. Use the CARTOONIZER. After uploading your pic, choose one of the styles up top (the default one seems best to me) BUT make sure you click on MORE OPTIONS and play around with those (one at a time & you have to click APPLY to see the changes)... Once you have your Image, you can bring it into the site mentioned above and make any minor edits you need to do.

I'd love to be able to do the Logo's on my own - how do you make it transparent using this software? I can't seem to find "transparent" anywhere.

Don't worry, you're not the only one who can't quite figure it out (I can't, either).

Re: Free Site for making Transparent Logos

Phenomenal site. I used it for all my logo designs.

The trick I was missing at first was you have to save it as a .png to preserve the transparancy.

Brief tutorial:
1) Find/create logo file
2) Load it into program
3) Choose magic wand, then click on the white space surrounding the logo, then delete.
4) Repeat for all white space
5) Save as a .png

Tons of options on that site though, can't believe its so fast and so free.

Thank you for the tutorial, at least I can now see "transparent" as an option. However I'm still not doing something right.

What do you mean by "delete"? Do I just hit my delete key after I select the area? Do I select "delete layer" in the "layers" menu?

I've tried both, and then saved as a .png, and it's still not working.

Please help!!!
