EA Profitting From Your Created Teams?

Per EA's Terms & Conditions below, EA has the right to reproduce and profit from your creation without even acknowledging you, muchless paying you for it.

This is particularly disturbing for those of us interested in creating historic teams that take numerous hours of researching hard to find depth charts, rosters, video footage, etc.

Through the years, EA did a lousy job with historic teams that had starters out of position, wildly incorrect rosters and skill. Eventually EA did away with including historic teams.

Now it appears they have found a way for us to do their work for them, without them having to acknowledge us or pay for it, and all the while paying them our annual $60 for a game that once again needs patches before it hits the shelves.

    6. Contributing Your Own Content to EA Services; License Grant to EA and Others

In exchange for EA enabling your contribution of Content, when you contribute Content to an EA Service, you expressly grant to EA a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, complete and irrevocable right to quote, re-post, use, reproduce, modify, create derivative works from, syndicate, license, print, sublicense, distribute, transmit, broadcast, and otherwise communicate, and publicly display and perform the Content, or any portion thereof, in any manner or form and in any medium or forum, whether now known or hereafter devised, without notice, payment or attribution of any kind to you or any third party. You grant EA all licenses, consents and clearances to enable EA to use such Content for such purposes. You waive, and agree not to assert any moral or similar rights you may have in such Content.

It looks like the agreement on most places that allow people to submit content.

I really don't think it's a big deal. If you're actually a talented enough designer that you're making all of your own logos and think you should be paid for it... don't put them in TeamBuilder.

The worst EA is probably going to do with any of our stuff is showing a created team in a screenshot or 2 second clip in a commercial.

Yep. No big deal.... don't make a team if it bothers you...

Not a big deal at all. It seems like you are reaching now.

How is it a reach? EA has included historic teams within the game in the past, whose to say that don't use our creations and start including historic teams in future games. Especially with this game that they are always straining to find something different to justify zinging you for another $60.

Again, I am talking about real historic teams that take numerous hours of research within hard to find resources to create. So it is a big deal. This is completely different than some fictional team that some guy makes up and puts together in 15 minutes, which is no big deal and never could generate a profit for EA.
