Best logo size for Teambuilder?
On the teambuilder site is says 256X256 but what are the best demensions to use?Tags: None -
Re: Best logo size for Teambuilder?
256x256. If you go higher the site will automatically re-size the image for you but it will be done poorly and come out jagged. The secondary logo should be 128x128.
If the logo is coming out too large for your liking on the helmet, I'll usually re-size those to around 215x215 or so.Red Wolves | Broncos | Cubs | Grizzlies | Predators | Liverpool FC | Sporting KC -

this isnt really true, you can use larger logos just as well and they dont look crappy, I've used plenty of 300 and above logos..you just want to go smaller than 256Comment

Re: Best logo size for Teambuilder?
It can actually make a huge difference. Here's a quick and easy comparison
Image larger than 256x256 uploaded to TB site

Image that is 256x256

Re: Best logo size for Teambuilder?
thats not a huge difference at all, quite frankly.
in game, on the helmets, its not necessary to be so perfectionist at all.
all my larger logos are quite nice, decent and legible in game.
its kind of anal to worry about logo size unless they are too small.
Besides, if you are trying to prove it by resizing something to make it larger so it looks stretched that doesnt disprove me. I'm talking about stuff that is already larger. That being said, a CAS guy, opus made this for me
an old school FSU indian helmet design

and there is nothing wrong with how it came out

its a game, not a commercial design project, you dont need to be a 256 nazi to use it well

I didn't stretch anything. That LA Galaxy logo is 2000x2542 normally. The resized one was 256x256.thats not a huge difference at all, quite frankly.

Here's your FSU logo downsized by TB

And here it is resized beforehand to 256

You don't have to resize them if you don't want, I just suggest it.

Re: Best logo size for Teambuilder?
I'd suggest using something around 210. Because if you use anything else the logo shows up HUGE on the helmet in gameComment

But another point is I purposely wanted that one larger so it is larger on the helmet like the original real FSU helmet. The site does resize but the larger you use, the larger it will appear on helmet and in some cases I and others want that.Comment

Re: Best logo size for Teambuilder?
I don't think that's true... There is a set area on the helmets that constrain the "generated" graphics to. It's pretty much like that in just about every game where you can upload you graphics to a certain area.Comment

Re: Best logo size for Teambuilder?
This is exactly right. The 2000 pixel logo I uploaded will be no larger on the helmet than the 256 pixel logo. Once you hit the 256 pixel mark, it stops matter big the logo is and then just becomes a matter of how the logo is shaped. A perfect 256x256 square logo will be insanely large for instance.Last edited by Noble Evildoer; 07-17-2011, 12:24 AM.Red Wolves | Broncos | Cubs | Grizzlies | Predators | Liverpool FC | Sporting KCComment

I don't know what you think you've seen, but that's simply not true. Any image you upload that is larger than 256 pixels is going to be squashed down to 256 by the website.
I uploaded this and then this.
The first is 2000X1987 and the second is 256. When uploaded to the site an put on a helmet they look like this

The logo size is exactly the same (giant).Red Wolves | Broncos | Cubs | Grizzlies | Predators | Liverpool FC | Sporting KCComment

Re: Best logo size for Teambuilder?
Though I agree with you that there is no difference in size on the helmet regardless of the size of the logo uploaded, I think you need to go all the way with your example and actually compare the logos on the helmets in the actual game. The logos always look different in-game than on TB anyhow. But I think doing this would put to rest the dispute in my opinion.I don't know what you think you've seen, but that's simply not true. I'm not trying to be an *** or anything but I used to work for a video game company as a graphic artist and I know how these things work. Mapping custom designs on 3D models isn't new and it really hasn't changed much when it comes to video games especially on consoles.
Having said that, I know that when different shapes are placed on a mapped area, for example these helmets, they tend to play tricks on your eyes. The best way to see the comparison is to make an identical shape, one 256x256 and on 512x512, and import them into game. You will see no difference in size my friend.Last edited by AiDub; 07-18-2011, 11:34 AM.Comment

no problems here at all..and I'll even say, they may have improved this year and a new helmet style may mess with logo size too but as far as I can tell I can still see larger as larger and not contained.
and your 512 example might work but I've actually used larger
bad example LOL,.. but an example- failed experiment trying to do an old school leather helmet look..look how far each corner reaches of the white stripes..

all players are either a standard helmet or another helmet thats more smooth then indented on top- I used something this big
