TB wishlist for NCAA 14

My wishes for TB 14 (many of these have been stated)

1. Allow people to name the offensive and defensive coordinators on the team
2. Allow coaches' names to be longer (right now the max is 8 characters for the first name and 9 for the last)
3. Allow more logos (at least 1 or 2 more)
4. Create stadiums
5. Remove the half & half for neutral site stadiums
6. Add more generic stadiums
7. Allow stadium names to be longer
8. Have more turf colors (such as red, purple, etc.)
9. Allow different end zone styles (slashes, checkerboard, etc.)
10. Have more helmets (2 more)
11. Have more helmet stripe styles
12. Allow different paint styles (matte, chrome, metallic, etc.)
13. Add pride stickers and other helmet accessories (flags, numbers on back of helmet, etc.)
14. Have different fonts & number styles
15. Have more jersey styles
16. Add more jerseys if wanted (at least 2 more)
17. Let people choose brands (Nike, Adidas, etc.)
18. Add the Nike-style collar
19. Add more pants (2 more)
20. Have more pants styles
21. Add colored cleats
22. Add colored socks
23. Add sock styles (plain, striped, etc.)
24. Add more cleat brands
25. Add more mascots and/or generic mascots
26. Make the generic roster types generic (the Air it Out/Air Raid roster template was actually USC's roster and the Rushing Attack/Ground Attack was Wisconsin's)
27. Add redshirts to players
28. Change hometowns of players (ex: the Halifax Tigers have 28 players from California)
29. Add more appearance factors (hair, physical build, etc.)
30. Allow people to edit depth charts

Those are the big ones for me. Also, adding some kind of tool allowing us to move a logo around so that this would be possible.

Just an example, but a way for us to add logos to the top front of the helmet.

I didn't think about that. I also have another thing to add: remove censorings! If it's a common name, don't censor it. If it's not the exact spelling of a profane word, don't censor it. If names become an issue because of this, get rid of the team. That's what they do to any team marked inappropriate.

I think all of mine are pretty popular and I would think fairly simple. I have them listed in order of priority for me:

1. Official Uniform Providers (UA, Nike, Adidas and/or Reebok)

It bothers me that I have to use one of my two logo slots so I can put in a Nike or Under Armor emblem. I think they keep the basic Uniforms already in Teambuilder and just have an option to add one of the Provider Logos to the Uniform. Or they could get really creative and let you select from some already made Under Armor or Nike Jersey that you can customize with your color scheme.

2. Change Pipeline State

This is another thing that really irritates me. Most of the schools that I create are smaller schools in Texas towns. Like East Texas University or West Texas University. Given that my school is located in Texas, most of my players should be from Texas. Not from the default New Jersey, Rhode Island and Connecticut region. Whenever you choose the state in Teambuilder, it should default the players to that State and maybe two bordering States (Ex. New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana or Arkansas). But honestly, I'd be satisfied if they just made every player from that State. I could live with that.

3. Stadium Editor

I think this is another one that is gaining some traction lately. I understand how much it would take for them to put together an entire Create A Stadium option, so I'd settle for a Stadium editor. I'd really like the choice to dress up my home field a little bit more. Let me design the End Zones so they aren't just plain text. Maybe somebody wants to sport a checkered End Zone or some dashed lines. Maybe I want to prop my Team Logo next to a shortened version of my name (Warhawks - 'Hawks). And then the bigger thing, give us a way to remove logos from already existing stadiums. I don't mind using a Stadium that is already made so there isn't a need to implement a Create A Stadium feature. But give me a chance to remove logos and place my logo on a circle, rectangular or squared surface in it's place. Also, let us do a slight color change so the stadium fits our color scheme instead of the team we adopted it from.

4. Two Additional Logo Slots

Now if they would fix #1 by giving us Uniform Providers to select from, this one wouldn't be necessary. But if they aren't going to let us choose who provides the Uniforms, I'd like two additional slots so I can add two Provider Logos that would match my Uniforms.


I think these are all fair and simple requests, wouldn't you agree? By simple, I'm not saying it's something they could snap their fingers and get done. But I think they're ways to appease the players without dumping a lot of time and expenses into building new features like Create A Stadium and etc.

Interesting. I was just on that thing last night working on a new team. Man, I really hope we're going to be getting some legitimate updates this year.
