Anyone played any NFL 2K game before 2K4?

2k3. still solid and in some ways is better than all football games to this date.

reason being:
The user really has to understand situational football. when playing against the CPU/AI, when selecting plays THE AI does not let you know what formation they are using on offense. You really have to know downs/yardage the team's strengths, etc.

NFL 2k2 on PS2 was my first & I was hooked.

My friends would talk about 2K on Dreamcast, literally, all the time. I never had a Dreamcast, although I wanted one, by the time I had saved up enough money to buy one, I transitioned into wanting a PS2 instead.

So once 2k2 came out on PS2, I was super interested in trying it out. My friends would brag about it all the time, and they were right. It was the most fun I had with a football game since NFL Gameday 98.

NFL 2k3 goes down as my favorite 2k though. I had it on Gamecube & for whatever reason, that version was more difficult or something than the others? Think I remember reading that, but anyway, it was fun as hell. I convinced my friend Steve to buy it, he came into school the next day and asked what on earth I made him buy, he said he can’t move the ball 3 yards lol. About a week later he was on board as a 2k fanatic though.

I first played NFL2K when the DreamCast launched. I bought 2K5 when it first came out and still have it.

I had the first 2K, 2K2 as well. It was actually my introduction to "sim" football gaming as before that I'd only played NFL blitz. I never played Madden before Vick in 04 and I remember what pulled me into 2K was how impressed I was by the graphics when I saw the ads. That will always be a memory I cherish as I'd never seen anything like that before.

Didn't get back into it until 2K5, then 2K8.
