Re: Comprehensive Slider Test

Phase 2 Game 2
Miami Dolphins @ Houston Texans

... I really don't wanna comment on this game. Something feels different, and I want to give it a few games. This is the first game I've played since the patch. I will say this: I have dispelled any reasonable doubt that there is either a reverals or backwards kick off length slider!!! In 5 games with Human KOL at 10 and CPU KOL at 90, the human kicker kicked off 17 times and had 12 touchbacks. In 2 games in which the USER KOS was 90 and CPU KOL was 10, the human kicker has kicked off 12 times and had ZERO touchbacks. So we can say with certainty that there is something wrong there... either up is down and down is up with the USER slider, or the USER is using the CPU slider.

Re: Comprehensive Slider Test

I have been playing HC09 for 3 weeks now. I installed the patch 2 days ago also.
I have tried a lot of different set of sliders, almost any combination you can imagine, and i have to say that i believe the slider dont work or has little influence in the game.
The user sliders definelety dont work. The cpu may work a little, but i cant say wich ones work and wich ones dont.
In my first season as the jets, 2nd game against New England, i have tried everything but i could never beat them.
If you think the sliders work, please give me a set that i can use to bet the patriots. Thanks guys

Maybe your team isn't good enough to beat the patriots...hmmm. I think you've missed the idea with this game. It's not meant to be Madden.

Re: Comprehensive Slider Test

I've followed this thread and it is interesting. I had some input of things I witnessed toying with the sliders I figured i'd share and maybe you'd want to look into it some more.

I think that some sliders might be relative. What I mean is say in madden you put the user tackling to 100 and cpu to 0 your guys make every tackle cpu miss everything. In Head Coach I tried setting CPU tackling to 0 (wanted to see how it affected tackles for loss) and left user at 50. I played 5 games (same teams and conditions) and found that there was alot less tackle for loss and the cpu missed a bunch of tackles, problem was so did my team! a Few times the cpu threw a 5 yard slant and broke 6 tackles on 1 play with a WR, or the HB broke 5 tackles for a big gain. It was interesting to see how setting just the CPU tackle slider to 0 affected both teams. (I was calling my own plays) I don't know if you noticed this or not but give it a look and try it out I'd be interested in your thoughts.

Re: Comprehensive Slider Test

I don't think I've ever seen more than one broken tackle per play, so you may be on to something.

Re: Comprehensive Slider Test

Played my first regular seaon game with the new patch. There is a noticible difference in the game. It seems to flow smoother and there are differences with the running and passing game. I thnk Adambroski and others are correct that there were other tweaks made to the game that we may not be aware of. However, it appears that the penalties sliders need to stay on default or tweaks need to be found to make it more realistic.

For the penalty siders, I initally placed them both on 95, based on another thread pre-patch. When I updated the game, I set OFF/DEF to default but left the penalty sliders at 95. The Titans moved the ball downfield for their first drive, no penalties, scored a TD.

On the ensuing kickoff, my first three possesions were false start, false start, and holding. I stopped the game, reset the penalties, and continued. The game toned down a bit , but as you can see from the stats below, The Titans had no penalties called at all, where I had one more called on me with penalites set to default.

Anyway, I really enjoyed the game and I am even more excited to do more as I now have some semblance of a running and passing game, even though Jones-Drew ran bad...which I need to comparing for future games to see if there is another problem. As you look at the stats, check the QB runing stats....

Re: Comprehensive Slider Test

Post-patch game 2 against the Bills. All settings were set to default with the exception of RB. Placed the RB for both Human/CPU to 45. Ball carrier seemed to hit the hole better and I placed Jones-Drew as the #1 back in the Depth chart. He had a good game, Fred did not. The Bill's run game was non-existant. Going to do another test regarding depth chart for next game.

Again I believe that the patch has made the game better. However, I saw something that I never noticed. I called a defensive blitz play to where I was going to bring the house. I saw the CPU team call an audible which would have burned me big time. I called a time out. Has anyone else experienced this (audibles)?
