Re: Time to update Goody's sliders again
Mike, set all the settings to 50. Sim a season. Drops will always be high. There's nothing you could do but raise catch. Still, you wouldnt want to do that. That would allow more players to get 150+ receptions or 25+tds, or 2000+ yards. At 25, its stops that from happening for the most part. Only Brandon Marshall on the broncos can break the 2000+ yd or 23+tds the first year, and thats shannahan/his playbook. Same with Reggie Bush on the saints, he can catch 140 passes if he stays healthy.
Gonna update the first post and rewrite it. Theres a couple things that worked and couple that didnt that need to be changed. With enough simulations I've come to realize he was wrong on knockdowns. It can be at 50 and it will mainly boost dline blocking passes at the line and some deflections by great cbs or well coached teams.
Also tackle is back to 25 because even though the missed tackles can get ridiculous, its more to do with learning than anything. If you're using unlearned plays more than anything, your players are just going to suck the first couple times they do it. You kinda need to pick the right play and then hope they perform their job well enough until learned.
Finally, after simming several seasons, at 50s 75s and 100s, the kicking/punting game is atrocious in this game. It cant really accurately depict a season for most kickers or punters. For that reason, Ive just put them all at 100 except for ko power. Kickoffs are just fine at 50. Unless you have a weak kicker doing them, its going to the goalline or in the endzone for a tb.
So the settings are as follows.
QBA 50 Catching 25 Pass Blocking 25, RBA 50, Run block 75
Awareness 50 knockdowns 50 interceptions 25 block shed 75 tackle 25
kp 100 ka 100 pp 100 pa 100 ko 50
This has allowed a very enjoyable experience unless you're a glutton for punishment(only use unlearned). How well you coach + how good your team/staff is = how you'll do. You can win or lose any game. Its been fun.
