5 minute quarters can't be changed

From RAC at Maddenation who got the game today, 5 minute quarters cannot be changed. He wasn't having a problem getting a realistic amount of plays though.

Well reading what he said about the pace of the game it sounds like that won't be too bad.

I'm actually ok with this. As long as I get close to the number of plays and now I won't be paranoid whether I should change the minute per quarters because I have no choice.

Well were I'm concerned in the two minute drill. Out of a 20 minute game 1/5 of it will be in the two minutes. Where as in the real game 4 minutes out of 60 are in the two minute drill.

That may not seem like a big deal but it its not handled right you could see games where there's 3 or 4 possessions in the final minutes. Just like in Madden, you don't really have to hurry inside of :45.

I also hope the stats are balence between real play and simmed games. It will kill the game for me if the in-game stats are not insync with the simmed stats.

What about the other CPU games around the league? Are they set to produce stats from 5 minute quarters too?

If they are that's not so bad, but if they base those on 15 minutes (as Madden does) it's gonna be a problem....

Actually if calculated correctly, 40 seconds (In the Game) equates to 2 minutes which isn't the 20% you calculate above. Your relating 1 minute in real time as the same as the NFL Head Coach/Madden. The true calculation is as follows:

We'll use just one half becasue the percentage doesn't change.

1800 seconds in a real football game (Half)
120 seconds for two minute warning (half)
120/1800=6.7%

Now: NFL Head Coach is 5 minute quarters

600 seconds
X= seconds for two minute warning
600*.067=40 seconds
therfore x= 40 seconds per half for the two minute warning.

That's a lot of math... my question is if the 5 minutes quarters are real time 5 minutes or 5 minutes quarter time.

Take Madden for example, if you set your quarter to 5 minutes you would still get the Two minute warning at 2:00. Meaning a little less than half of the quarter would be in the final two minutes. I haven't seen anything that says HC will have an accelerated clock or shorted two-minute warnings/drills.
