I've run into a problem I go to my week 2 game and I can't coach my team? Whats going on? 6 hours into and i have 0 control? Week two bug?

Same here. I dont know WTF is going on, it's making me mad..fortunately i have the PC versoin though so maybe there is some kind of hope.

EA is aware of the problem, but there's something happening within the game that's corrupting the data. Like, if a CPU controlled team has too many injuries and they can't fill all the positions, if makes the game tweak out or something.

Its terrible and I'm not starting over. I'll wait or let the game collect dust. I'm about 8 hours in no sense in starting over.

Yeah, it happened to me as well. I've asked around. Most people say they just create a backup save file in case it happens. The bad news is that you've lost your season. No one has been able to find a way to fix it once it happens. Some speculate that it only happens with certain teams. But no one is sure.

Who are you playing as?

Thanks for the check in. What I've been able to determine so far is that the 0-0 error out is the same for all users. What appears to happen is that during the preseason, one CPU-controlled team will get be devastated with injuries across several key positions on offense and defense causing the roster for that team to not be full on game day. When week one is actively entered by the player, if this roster issue is not resolved, that game will not be played as the CPU will simply not play the game. When the remainder of the week is simulated, the 0-0 scores will appear beginning in the second week of the seaon which indicates to the player that something is wrong.

At this time, we haven't been able to consistenly get this to happen but we are working now to narrow down the variables which may cause this to be happening. There currently is not a work-around for this issue once it occurs but I am working closely with members of the development team to see what else may be done as a means of prevention. Right now, I'm still trying to get save files for all 3 of the platforms to send off to the development team but it is very slow treading.

I'll see what I can do to update you further but that's about all the I have right now,

To be quite honest, the Tech Support guy, Rob M., is one of the main Support guys at EA and he's a mod on the forums. He really does hang out in those forums and he does pay attention to the bugs that people post on there and what not.

A portion of the message from EA's tech support read, "When Week 1 is actively entered by the player." I know it's not resolved yet, but do you think the bug can be avoided by just simming through Week 1? I'd be willing to do it to avoid the bug.

so if they figure out how to fix it how will ps2 people get a fix? They can patch it on everything else or is this just a PC prob.

Can't resist posting a message on a game almost no one else still plays. In my seasons with Original HC, I found that the 0-0 bug occurred when, in off-season, I made a trade with a team that maxxed out their number of players to 55. If/when that happens, there's about a 60% chance that I'll run into the 0-0 bug during Week 2.
However, if I only make trades that leave teams with 54 or fewer players, the bug NEVER occurs.
Take it for what it's worth... nearly nothing nowadays <g>

The Ravens will sometimes get 56 players on their roster and when that happens the game starts simulating games at 0-0 scores and all.....

This ONLY happens in the first season, and it ONLY happens with Ravens. Ive played this game like a crack addict one original xbox, ps2 and now PC.

DO A SIMPLE TRADE. Get their SS and HB that are rated the lowest on their entire roster and this will not happen.

Big ups to this guy as it took me forever to find the solution for the 0-0 bug. Another thing I'd like to add is that is at least for me, it correlated with the teams I traded with to get their draft picks. For example I traded with the Texans and Saints to get their draft picks and they happened to have 56/55 players. Another thing that I played around with is the these trades need to be done IN TRAINING CAMP, if you wait until preseason or regular season to fix this bug the trades will not go through.
