Re: Head Coach 09 ratings

Oakland Raiders

coach - Lane Kiffin
approval - 43
personality - analyst
roster talent - weak (I think our roster is fairly good this year, our O-line on the other-hand...)
playbook - very weak (I've already fixed that, I have a notebook full of plays already drawn up and ready for practice)
overall skill - 26
gm skill - 28 (*Sigh* This alone will make my job extremely difficult)
off coord - 8 (Yikes! This guy is gone as soon as I turn the game on)
def coord - 86

All in all, it looks damn near impossible to make the Raiders a contender, but that's what will make it that much more satisfying when we're hoisting the Lombardi trophy in a few seasons.

Re: Head Coach 09 ratings

Before I complain about certain ratings, what exactly does the GM rating do?

Also, why do playbooks have a rating, and what does this rating mean?

According to Donny Moore, your GM is very important:

The GM also plays a major role in scouting. Based on how good your GM is at rookie scouting (per position), this will directly determine how many guys you get to scout at each scouting stage. For example, a 5 rated GM might get 12 DBs to scout during NFL Combine where as a 1 rated GM only gets 3 guys to scout.

The GM also affects your approval. If you make moves that are in agreement with the GM (like going with a draft pick suggestion he might have), then he will be happy with you. If you continually override the GM on decision after decision, he will eventually get mad with you and try and leave the team in the offseason for other opportunities.

For CPU teams, the GM makes most of these decisions himself for the team. The CPU Head Coach does not play as large of a role as the user Head Coach would. So bottom line here for CPU GMs, they play a HUGE role in off-the-field decision making for a franchise.

Just to have a little fun with a Cowboy fan....
Quincy Carter, Drew Henson, Chad Hutchinson...And it was the Tuna who spotted Romo not JJ. I know that I can't say much being a skins fan though.

Re: Head Coach 09 ratings

Romo was pursued by Cowboys Offensive Coordinator Sean Peyton!

Tuna helped with getting him signed (i.e. phone convo)!

Is my understanding correct?
