Since This Will Basically Be Called Madden 2010 Franchise Mode

What are the best/worst features in this game that should/shouldn't be in Madden 2010?

(I thankfully had the willpower to not buy Madden this year) which is why I am asking all of you

The timer transaction for me. It should be longer or should be taken out ( I usually take a lot of time before I can decide something). But I understand many people actually love the timer feature. It is like playing poker against the CPU.

Sometimes I purposely join the FA signing (even though I have no plan to sign the player) just to drove the player's price up.

I like the timer overall except in the draft. Giving me 60 seconds to scroll through 20 trade options from 5 different teams is a little ridiculous. The only timer that should apply during the draft is the actual pick timer itself.

i love the Free Agent Bidding, and the incentives in contracts. very detailed, and definitely gives you an agenda to follow.

Please don't tell me they are putting this game into Madden. I just know it will ruin it somehow. I can't see how the two can coexist. I mean, it's obvious they could put this in as the franchise mode, but the whole point of this game is that it's a sim. As soon as you put it into Madden your players are slaves to your skill with the buttons. I don't care how many "My Skill" type gimmicks they throw in there, as long as humans are controlling the players there will be some bit of skew towards non-realism....depending on how good or bad you are at playing Madden. Of course if they put it in and let you play it exactly as it is then there is no harm..I just fear if this game mingles into the Madden camp it will ruin it somehow.

I mean the personel management side of things. The SIM style has never been present in Madden...or any sports game.

I mean holdouts, morale dragging a team down, whatever is in Head Coach in a player management perspective.

Does that make sense? I'm not saying you're wrong, because you aren't. I am just asking about the more technical side of the game since they said recently that the guy from Head Coach will be joining the Madden Franchise Mode for 2010.

Re: Since This Will Basically Be Called Madden 2010 Franchise Mode

Allow me to nip this now... because it'll become pervasive and when 2010 hits and it's *not* the Head Coach career mode with control over the players, people are going to cry foul over it.

Donny Moore, the man responsible for much of the "tuning" from what I understand on Head Coach, is now (I think) the lead designer for the franchise team on Madden. This does not mean that Head Coach Career = Madden Franchise, and Ian Cummings has said that blatantly.

Madden's franchise mode will be redesigned to some extent... that was mentioned by Phil Frazier over on MM months ago when he first revealed that members of the Head Coach team would be making the jump (though at the time he didn't name names), but I don't think Tiburon has any plans on simply pulling Head Coach over to Madden.

I would think that Madden will take a more broad view, with less emphasis on player development and coaching staffs, and put more emphasis on the financial and roster management aspects of the game. Where as Head Coach has a very strong focus on the role of being a Head Coach and President of Player Football Operations/Player Personnel, Madden will take a more Owner/General Manager perspective. That's just my guess.

My main hope is that they differ significantly in some way, giving us a different flavor for each game.

I agree with a lot of what budsticky and adembroski have said.

I do think just trying to dump this into Madden would be a disaster. I want the games as far from one another as possible. The next gen Maddens have been a disaster and I dont want them polluting the HC series (cant really speak to this years yet, as it still has not made it out of the CE case!).
