QB question

I started a franchise as the raiders and Russel is rated a 56 with 78 potential.

I assume this is because my philosophy and system (Feild Genereal and Spread).

Knowing this I traded for a stop gap QB, Ken Dorsay, who had a rating of 70 and potential of 74.

Throughout the first season both dorsay's overall and potential kept going up.
How is it possible for his potential going up?
(he ended up an 85 with 88 potential)

Also, what the hell am i going to do with Russel? His cap penalty is huge, like 8mil.

Try trading him. I use walter for the same reason. New playbook (NE) killed his development. His complete ratio was in the 20s with 1 td and 6 INT. Though I miss his run ability my games are much closer though I am 1-4 still. Cutting russell will kill your cap

If he trades Russell he still gets the same cap hit as if releases him. Cap penalties are the same whether you cut or trade a guy.

Re: QB question

I might cut him one year where i can absorb the penalty w/o too much damage.

By the way, Ken Dorsey saved my ***, I kept trying to rebuild the raiders, but kept going like 3-13 or worse, and being fired before I had a chance.

With Dorsey and good defense I ended up 8-8 in my first season and am now 7-3 in my second.

A great turn around if I do say so myself. :P

Re: QB question

If I had Russel on my team I'd tailor the offense to him. He must have amazing potential if put in a tailor-made offense.
