Re: Too good players in Free Agency

it's really easy to horde high rated players via free agency, simply by not spending any cap money.

This definitely needs to be tuned down.

I shouldn't be able to get 85+ rated players for 1yr/$1M contracts.

I'm finding pro bowlers in free agency, simply by making sure I have an extra $10M of cap space come pre-season.

You can certainly sign a lot of high quality FA's to 1 yr deals. However, good luck re-signing them on the cheap.

Exactly!, Head Coach is good for a first try but this game is still too easy!, I am now on the point where I dont sign any free agents until the regular season and just sign the pro-bowlers in the free agency.

Also knowing the playbook is BS, I run plays that are unlearned and I still have great success with them

Re: Too good players in Free Agency

Player ratings are okay, but I think the NFL value of a player is what's missing.

When I start my team I have a SS rated 82 w/ potential 87, but once I change my philosophy he drops to a 69, no potential growth. This SS does not fit my team, but he is still a darn good player with NFL value. It seems like the CPU only looks at the overall for the team, instead of the value the player has in the NFL. (In other words, it sees the 69 and cuts the player instead of the 82 and trades him)

When players like Gholston come up as a FA in year 3, I think the coaching staff changed, and the philosophy changed (lowering his OVR), and Gholston is now seen by CPU as a overpaid junk player...hence he is cut. The CPU needs to do a better job determining Value of a player.

I've had no problems running unlearned plays with players that have high Awareness. However when I was rebuilding (lots of young players, lower awareness), running an unlearned play usually met with disaster.
