Worth trading up?

I lack a solid DT2 for my 4-3 defense. Is it worth trading a 3rd and my 1st rounder next year and this year (32nd pick) to move up to the top 10 to get a DT I scouted to have a 94 potential rating?
The guy is freaking fast for a DT too.

Whats the annual salary for the 8-11 overall pick?

The only other positions I need are C and HB2. And an upgrade at ROLB couldn't hurt but isn't necessary.

I wouldn't do it if I were you. You'd probably be on the fast track to salary cap hell, and think of the quality players that you could draft at those picks you are trading away.

=/

Only have 1 DT on my team at the moment and there aren't any good DTs in free agency. Got like ~$16million in cap room.

I don't think it would necessarily be a bad move to trade up. I've found that having strong DTs is very helpful. I signed Albert Haynesworth to the Phins and kept Jason Taylor on the team. That team led the league in rush defense.

Like the real NFL, its a REALLY BIG GAMBLE.

You can find good DT's in the 5th 6th and 7th round too though. That you shouldn't forget. Just look for guys with NFL comparisons to guys like Albert haynsworth and pat williams.

HAHAHAHAHAHAH.....*deep breath* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

ok ok

Dude no offence ... but having the top rund D in this game is a 99.9% given. I finally settled on the Jet's and there Ginger Green no name defence is the top run D in my season.

All my money is on the Offence. Only thing i picked up are some mid-line cheep D backs who can play man in the high 80's and low 90's

LOL we play Zone we give up alot of yards..

Now onto the question at hand.

Honestly dude if you do it right and study all your options. You will find a sleeper and hidden player for your 4th to 7th round pick that will cost you at the most 1.5 mill for 3 years. One thing i have learned and love about this game is the offseason and finding them diamonds in the rough.

I find about all my D players that way. And use top picks if not traded away on HB's and WR's. But i tailor my Teams towards the offence.

I picked up a DT in the 5th round who's POT is 91 and he's 79 OV ATM and is eating up in a 3-4. Kid has 5 Sacks in 4 games and alot of TFL's and he was 52 OV in the draft.........

Re: Worth trading up?

I agree with medic.

Also, for non-skill position players I have found its sometimes easy to find solid depth players in the muck that gets cut during training camp. Every week after the cut day I go into free agents thru the roster menu sort by overall, and go thru the ? guys. While you can't see anything in their stats from there if you pull of their player cards and look at the progression screen you can see their current stats, and their possible max's. So a lot of times you can find some really solid guys in there.

You can find some solid skills guys too. I've found QB's, WR's, and HB's in there with pot's in the high 80's, and a few in the low 90's. It takes a while to go thru each player and look at his stats, but its well worth it if you need depth at positions.
