I havent seen anyone do this yet so to kill time until the roster updates and patches are out i decided to do something constructive. these are the porential ratings of the 2008 draft class since thats the only class thats not random. As we all know potential is based off of your philosphes and mine were as follows

Re: 2008 Draft class potential revealed

Harry Douglas is a steal in the 4th, so is Mario Manningham.

I don't understand why Dustin Keller's potential is so low, the guy is a match up nightmare in real life, and he going to be a target for Favre. He's been great in the preseason so far.

Phillip Wheeler is a steal for any 3-4 team, he seems to be higher in that system than 4-3.

I think potential will change from GM to GM. Not all of those are the same for mine, but I'm Miami and I don't think he's the best GM out there.

You guys realize the potential rating depends on your positional philosophies and the system you run and such right?

yea i was gonna say that too

also, POT isn't the end all and be all.. because of aforementioned philosophies/systems

but also OVR plays a part..

            ie: gimme a 83 ovr 97 pot player over a 56 ovr 98pot player

Thanks for the heads up on potential ratings, interesting to see the differences as we have wildly different positional philosophies.

Yeah there are a few that you can ALWAYS count on to be really good and there are more that seem to have some variation.

I run the SAME coach build each time and I use the same playbooks so if the numbers change it must be something in the team choice or it truely is varible.

Red Bryant was one play through a 93ov each time since I check but he hasn't topped 84ov since. Manningham, Woodson, Rubin, Moore all are solid everytime now.

To the OP...I see several on your list that have NEVER been that high for me, ever! But WOW...that was a lot of starting and restarting to get all those numbers

I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I don’t think you realize that what you heard was not entirely what I meant.

Also if you player performs really well in the season, he may got 1 or 2 above his listed potential.

What kind of OLB does your system use? If it's a cover 2, or anything else that would have him do something other than sick the QB, I'd believe it. In this game he does not have the skills to cover or read, or the ablity to learn plays. To put it another way, in the game, he's as dumb as a box of rocks and has the intangibles of a jar of mayo.
Oh, we will. This is America! And in America, if something sucks, you're supposed to be able to get your money back! Come on, Kenny!

i got the gold miner achievement off of mike peterson cuz he was a 90+ potential as a playmaking TE and as a speed back as well....however....DO NOT think this guy is gonna start year 1...his learning is a putrid 20 and his starting OVR is a 60 at best....definitely a good project player and an interesting option as a RB at 6'6" 280 lbs...im starting him at FB now and give him the rock on FB dives....his is a guaranteed 4 yards as he just has to stumble forward at the line to gain good yards.... btw....Dre Moore is a beast as a 3-4 NT....they werent kidding when they said size would mean something in this game

Keith Rivers is THE linebacker of this class...as the Dolphins i was offered the 11th pick by the bengals for a future first rounder and a 2nd year DB rated in the 70s....i jumped all over Rivers and he is AMAZING....game 1 in the regular season, 15 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 FF, and one pass defended....i was looking at his progression numbers and his pass rushing skills as a rookie surpass those of Jason Taylor.... i was thinking of switching him to DE but his coverage and speed stats are in the high 90s....and as an added bonus he is compared to Derrick Brooks and has an incredible game built personality... he will take the lowest offer on the board every time....
