    The Wildcat Formation

I was thinking about getting this game just to import that formation into Madden. Could anyone with the game let me know if it's even possibly to create a formation like that with Head Coach? Thanks.

I don't think you could do it with running plays. I've never tried to creat an unusual formation. Running plays are pretty much done by the devs because they are more complicated. I don't think you'd be that interested in the formation just for patching and that too might have limitations. I've never tried to create a new formation at least with the backfield.

I think you can sub your HB at QB. But I don't think you can actually make the HB get a direct snap as a HB. So, for importing to Madden purposes, I don't think it would work.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I haven't actually bothered with trying, but I do remember that McFadden has a higher rating at QB than my actual backup, at least while looking at the depth chart.

This is correct. Cant create plays with HB at QB and no direct snaps

No problem. Essentially it's the Wildhog formation Arkansas ran back when David Lee was there offensive coordinator (Now our QB coach). Darren McFadden would play QB and there QB would line-up wide. The Dolphins used it last week against the Pats and Ronnie scored 4 touchdowns (3 rushing and one passing) off the formation. Here's his breakdown of the formation:

Here's the Dolphin's running it last week and Ronnie's highlights:

Essentially Ricky (HB), Pennington (QB), and Hagan or Cobbs (HB/WR) all line-up wide. Two to the left and one out right. Ronnie (HB) is out at QB and Fasano (TE) lines up at the LT position. Jake Long (LT) lines up at TE on the right-side to put all "beef" to run block at the right. Ricky comes in toward the QB (Ronnie) to either take the hand-off or be a decoy/blocker. I Know I probably couldn't create this exactly right but at least something close. Again thanks for all the help.

ok, I have known that as the wild hog formation but never as the wildcat. whatever. You cant do it. The closest you can come is setting a rb as a qb in the depth chart or subbing him in there. Although they said they were giving us full control with the play creator, their idea of full control doesnt seem to be what most of ours is

                  Re: The Wildcat Formation

You can do it, as you can put any player in any spot you want. I tried creating a couple of these plays and importing them into Madden though and they did not work. The motion from the WR (R. Williams) went way behind the QB (R. Brown) instead of right in front of him.

The plays they ran can be found in the college spread offense playbook on HC.

You can't create these from scratch yourself, but you can use the plays that are already in the game.

In the college attack playbook, there are a ton of option plays. Just sub in your RB for the QB.

But if I imported one of those plays in Madden I wouldn't be able to sub in the HB at QB correct?

I beat Sarpano, I created them a few weeks ago, I subbed my #1 HB for the QB but you may need to use quick sub 1st to make sure your HB is there. I have a Big dive play, and a few sweeps, one where the LT pulls and leeds with the 2 FB's With Darius Pryor or Boar Jackson it is lights out.

If you create the play in HC with the HB at QB then he will be there in Madden also.

But like I said earlier, it's very difficult to get the motion and the exact plays to translate to Madden.
