Pass Defense

Just wondering how and what others are doing against the pass. This is frustrating me to no end, I am in year three with the Steelers, have upgraded the secondary and just continue to get lit up. Derek Anderson just threw for 410 yds and 4 TDs and a couple games ago a 66 rated Joe Sacco torched my secondary for 522 yds and 5 TDs, He was over 300 yds at the half. We won 45-42, but it was not much fun.

I make sure I gameplan for coverage each week, but this still keeps happening. I delegate playcalling to my DC on first and second downs, which is not working...rarely is there a third down and it takes them all of a minute or two to drive the length of the field. I read others delegate all playcalling, so how is your DC doing? Maybe Lebeau is just terrible in this game, I dunno.

Since this happens I am usually down 14-0 or 21-0 early because of turnovers or a punt and i'm forced to abandon the running game, which has been leading to 45-42 type scores...not fun. Just wanted to see if I could get some ideas on what others are doing.

Re: Pass Defense

Send the house every play. Went like 14-2 with the Lions in my first season.

Decided it "was cheating" , so I started over and let my DC call the plays.

I went 6-9, got fired and I'm not sure If I'll try starting again.

Two things the are happening.

1. Change your int to 55/55 on your sliders. This will help.
(Your DB play better and react.)

2. Personnel.
(This one you can't fix. The game doesn't call the right defense personnel to match up with the offense. So your stuck with your LB covering a WR and getting beat.)

The int at 55/55 should help tone your opponents passing down.

Hope this helps.
