Also by saying you are allowing the OC and DC to call plays does this mean you are just using the ask coach feature or did you switch it in the settings?

Finally is there any way to tell what type of playbook a coordinator has before you hire him. I would love to make this game hard but I would also like to have somewhat of a say as to what type of offense and defense I run. Basically I want to build a 3-4 out of the lions so I want to make sure I hire a 3-4 man coverage blitzing type coach.

As far as keeping the coach as is... for me...its that the team plays more true to their real counter parts. They will run the type of plays (i.e. the bills) are running. I know that using the existing coach...you have more knowlege of the playbook as most are learned. I think Clay is letting the OC/DC call the plays...but for me, I want more hands on..so I call them.

You can use a created coach, but for me...it seems that the teams become good too fast. Just look at some of the post. Lions 14 - 1, Finns ..undefeated. Maybe this will slow the greatness down a notch or so. Again, we are doing this...to see how the games play out vs the created coach. Also, don't know why, but the CPU is running better against me. Maybe it has a better history of the real coach, vs created coach...not sure.

As far as the 3-4...I think you can change it from your coaching screen...I know I have seen it somewhere. Maybe it was where you pick your playbooks...I can't remember. I don't think you can tell when you hire a coach what they bring. Sorry I couldn't help more.

This seems like a HUGE oversight. We are hiring the guys we want to help groom these players but we can't be sure they even run a playbook similar to ours. No 3-4 coach would go out and hire a DC who runs the Tampa 2 or vice versa. Ok maybe it could happen but he would have to be very good. If you have to offer him playbook control and you don't even know what he runs that is a HUGE risk. I guess the only way to do this is to save before all the coach stuff happens and then again after if and only if he is what you were looking for at all.

I got to agree with you on this. It doesn't matter what position you are hiring for...you should be able to take a look at his skills/playbook, etc.
