Just Got Game - What to know ?

I've just got the game and had a few questions -

1 - Should I use sliders to improve gameplay and if so which are the most realistic ?

2 - What should I do/not do to make the game more realistic ?

I've read about a few problems and want to avoid as many as possible to make the game as realastic as possible.

1) As far as sliders go, I really think it's a combination of how you want the game to play and how/if you develop your staff. The game plays pretty decent out the box with the default sliders. Play a full season with them and then decide what areas you want to tweak. Feel free to use the sliders under the slider thead as a guidance but I have a feeling you'll come up with your own after you play a full season.

2) There are plenty of house rules to be found if you search the board, but again, part of the fun is coming up with your own. One thing if you want to be realistic, don't take advantage of the game's A.I. and make trades that would never happen, loading up on 3 or more 1st round draft pics, etc.

Sorry to be generic when I know you wanted specific answers, but the fun of this game is making it your own. Don't be afraid to experiment. If you have the space I ABSOLUTELY advise saving it to your hard drive if you play on 360, the game play is much smoother and the game runs better.

One thing I would be aware of is not trading away a bunch of players in your first year. If you get too many cap penalities your owner will fire you. Do not sign free agent contract if you know you are going to turn around and trade him during the year to another team.
