The accelerated clock is automatic when the default 15 minute quarters are used. Any other minute setting turns it off.

There's no on/off switch, so to speak. Personally, I think the 15 minute setting works very well, though.

Re: Acc Clock ?

I was using 15 minute quarters but it didn't seem to count down quickly when I picked my plays quickly. The cpu also seemed to hike the ball with over 20 secs left on the play clock quite a few times.

Well, the play clock runs at normal speed all the time (one of my few gripes with this game - DOG is basically taken out of the equation). The accelerated clock basically runs about 15-20 seconds from the game clock immediately following a play (I think you can hear a ticking sound when that happens if you listen closely).

Watch the game clock display just as you're entering the play select screen - you should see it dropping rapidly at that point, and then slowing back down to normal.

And of course, this is turned off in the last 2 minutes of the half, and slightly more in the 4th quarter (can't remember where the exact point it shuts off).
