As a head coach, i focus on skills that help the entire team. I buy ambition, off season and regular season seminar, advanced playbook traning, motivator, educator,...e.t.c...all the ones that help the entire team. not just one side of the ball. For my assistant coaches i get the special skills, and for position coaches i get regular skills like strength, learning, and intangables. Thats how i handle it.
Interesting approach. I had not thought about that. How does that work for you?

Well, they're all special skills, so i'd say they would work pretty damn well.

Re: Philosophies and Coach Skills

I used the Bears playbook it has decent running plays and passing plays. I have a strong passing game and running game so i would simply check what the defensive was better at. If the team i was playing was good at stopping the run i passed and set up the run and vice versa. Now before you say the bears playbook is kind of weak i should say i recently won the superbowl using it with very little created plays.
