Will there be a new game or even and update for next year? I think an update of the rosters and coaches should be provided at least.

I would have to say yes, primarily due to the fact that the developers are now working on Madden, and are eerily silent about any downloads for this year's game, or any upcoming games in the series.

yeah, but i think next years madden will be very head coach ish in franchise mode.

While i really like HC, ive only every played it because madden franchise sucked chum on next gen, i really miss actually playing the games.

To be honest...

Madden would be the best if they only took 2 things from head coach.

The ability to change team philosophies (and have ratings reflect that), and the draft classes with updates. Those two things would make Madden a must-buy for me.

Looman already said not to expect a Head Coach like Franchise mode. I take it that they need more time.

That's why I pre-ordered Madden, BUT I will cancel if Franchise mode does not have some Head Coach guts.

We'll see.........

Head Coach existed in the first place specifically because the Madden series had no interest in making franchise mode more complicated than it already was. The majority of Madden gamers aren't 30-year-old dudes who listen to sports radio and consume information such as which draft pick you receive as compesnation for a Level 4 restricted free agent. That's not what Madden is about.

"What you see on Sunday" thats what EA is turning Madden into.

Head Coach as a Franchise mode is what people want. I know I do.

People can go play NFL Blitz if they want arcade football.

Online also seems to be dead on this game, as well.

I have tried on at least 3 different occasions to play a game online and I have been unable to find anyone to play.

Hope its not dead, This is my favorite Football Game !

Going thru the draft was one of my best video game moments, and I've been around since PONG...yikes!

A lot of people would disagree with you that Madden is a true football sim, but that's neither here nor there. (I am encouraged by what I've seen early from Madden '10)

After getting this game at the $10 BB sale and starting my 'chise, I'm mildly impressed so far. The game feels nothing like the old NFL Head Coach, which was completely bogged down by scheduling tasks and dealing with stupid agents.

I'll have to get further into the actual "gameplay" to tell if I like it, but I think they made a lot of good changes. It's a little bit unsettling having the tasks randomly thrown at me (like FA signing), but I suppose there is something realistic about having a bidding process and salary negotiation. The trade packages are cool too, only it does feel like I'm "on rails" to a certain degree.

I agree. In the franchise I started before I realized I needed to buy a clue and research it, the packages seemed very restrictive. I'm sure it was needed to prevent total chaos on the CAP logic but it doesn't seem natural.
