Oddest Coach Hiring ever?

2009 season and both the Bucs and Pats lost in the championship game. John Gruden quit the Bucs after that game and signed as a SPECIAL TEAMS COACH with the Pats!

Except he already has one when he beat the Raiders.
Still a hilarious coach hiring. Gruden tends to leave, he became the head coach of the Eagles after Reid left.

I felt odd when I hired Rodney Harrison as my DBs coach on my Fins career.

Re: Oddest Coach Hiring ever?

I am in season 4 with the pats and Gruden also signed to be my special teams coach in season 3...BTW...he is not a good STC. he then moved on to HC some team...I dont remember which...but it was really weird. Now mike Martz is my STC...I guess he saw it as a springboard to greatness.

I really wish I could get Mike Martz as my ST Coach. Would be so funny since I am running the Martz Passing Attack as my playbook.

I can just see him in the meetings "I wrote that playbook and now HE is running it.. whatever"

Oddest is that anyone hired me, at 7 ovr. You'd think they could give you slightly more points to start with.

Re: Oddest Coach Hiring ever?

oh, and the Pats QB coach kind of blows in that he is so limited...and once Brady leaves(retires or FA) you need someone to coach up a rookie or upgrade a fill in. I cut the guy loose and Jeff Garcia (the crispest QB in the SF area) took the job. He is fairly good and is leaps and bounds better than his predecessor.
