It doesn't matter which back I put in...all three are money for me. However, good coaching and a great offensive line help as well setting up the right plays for success. Bush and Aldridge I use a lot of sweeps and pitches, Gore is a beast running off tackle or up the gut. My favorite player to watch out of the 3 is Anthony Aldridge though...he is as explosive as they come...if he gets a seam and gets daylight he's going the distance.
There are alot of good RB's at least in the English path for sure, I have let Oman, Leron james and many more walk or traded them away in the last year of the contract.
You can get plenty of RB's It's fun to find the ones that out perform their rating.
My current mission is to turn jamal buckingham into a real runningback. He has the potential for sure but his overall starts pretty low. I am running an option based offense (first time trying such a thing) using him, ronnie brown just because getting rid of him is so expensive, and josh johnson. I am really concentrating more on defense though with chris long, calais campbell, dre moore, and tony bake making up my dline and a few other guys I picked up filling out my D.
Lorenzo Booker
Steve Slaton
Garrett Wolfe
Anthony Aldridge
(I wanted little fast guys who can catch and play multiple spots like receiver and KR...when I need that extra yard I put my 3rd TE as FB and my FB as RB. and an reserve Olineman as 3rd TE)
Currently I have taken the Baltimore Ravens with the San Diego offense and have the goal to run the football and keep all the Ravens defenders much like they have in real life.
With that said... We run for about 180 yards a game on nearly 45 carries. That means I need about 4 quality running backs. In Year 4 I am headed into the season with this:
(Zazalli Path)
Willis Mcgahee
Tank Watkins
Jalen Stoudemire
Brian Leonard
McGHahee gets 16 or so carries. Tank gets around 13. Jalen usually 10 and Leonard might get 6 or so in a hybrid HB-FB-TE position.
It's important in the San Diego running offense to have that many running backs because they get injured and depth is key. I'm liking it thus far.
Kendrick House and Vernon Davis (yes the TE from 49ers). Vernon is one of my favorite running backs in the game. He is strong, fast, and has a good balance. If you send him out in sweeps he always runs over someone and gets positive yardage almost every play. He’s fun to watch.
Leron James is just too fast. I find Barone and Myers (If you move them to RB and want to run more power) are better fits. Right now I have them as my three headed monster attacking defenses but Leron's numbers are down compared to the other two.
