For skills for your Head coach (especially if you create one), my suggestion is the same as the strategy guide; max our "performance" first, then allocate points after that to a couple of skills that need boosting to fill in gaping holes from your other coache's deficiencies. For example, if you have a crap DB coach, make yourself a DB specialist, you know?

thanks dan my game finally came today in order to get the updated patch would i have to be connected to the internet? or can i just get it without goin online

Picked this game up again (barely played it - bought it with Madden) a couple weeks ago. Won the Super Bowl with the 46 defense and power running game. Absolutely love it. Only $10. I wanted to see the differences between this and Front Office Football 07.

yeah i should of known that, that was the first thing i did when turned the game on. i am in love with this game i played my first game lions vs colts (i'm the lions) i lost a tough one 24-29 i got one sack had a decent run game but i threw for like 300+ yards. very close game turnovers is what lost it for me two fumbles and gave up a couple sacks because staton holds onto the ball too long just like in real life i dominated the time of possession 16minutes to 13 I also had a int late in the 4th . is there any way i can tell him to get rid of the ball alittle sooner?

Re: just picked up the game, few questions

Guru, thank u, I always pick that as my personalty too...

I second the default if u have at least an hour to play a game, the acceleradted clock makes it go so much quicker, but u do have to be fairly quick at calling ur plays though... Now for ur coach the commander personalty is usally the best way to go and always raise ur performance to 5... U can either go two ways on devoloping ur skills, first u can buy ambition and start getting special skills, which in return many say makes the game eaiser... Or secondly u can work on upgrading ur regular skills... U will more than likely never get a fully maxed coach so choose wisely... What I like to do is max performance out to 5 and then start to raise team chemistry up as that will help keep some players from retiring and also keep players from complaining as much about starting... Then I try to start with the intangiables first then physicals and learning last... I myself like to work inside out first OL and DL, then RB and LB, and last QB,WR,TE and DB... Never really bother about the kickers and punters, since they devolp so slow... I personally don't like to take special skills for the above reason making the game eaiser, but since u are starting out feel free to do so... (Intangaiables seem to me to help devolp players faster than the physical, but I am not 100% sure about though...)

To get the patch yes u have to be online and I beleive u also have to have a gold membership...

REO- that is what I exactly do, I create a strong running game and a custom 46 defensive playbook and that is what I use almost all the time... Favorite offensive formation is the I- twin TE wing... Btw, do u use the 46 Bear or normal the most??

I am sorry to inform u Mike, that u cannot tell ur players to get rid of the ball, sadly that is the one thing from the first one that I miss, is the ability to practice and teach ur players what to do... Now I have screamed at my T.V. and sometimes it has worked, but then again I don't think that will actually work... Btw, steer clear of Andre Woodson ur first year, because his slow *** realese will really tick u off, but if u can stomach it, then he will become a very soild QB... Also their awaraness is a major part to that too, because Drew's is low he doesn't see the open man fast enough like Peyton and Brady does...

Sorry, if these answers are a little late, been a little busy with work and all...

I've been toying around with the game, whats the best way to go about playing if I am simming (not super simming) the games? What can I do to get my RB2 to get more (almost half) the carries? What isn't important during the offseason? Is all the scouting important or just some of it? Thanks

Change Playcall Settings to West Coast Offense, that gets you about a 50%/50% split of running/passing. Get the Playcall and Stategy skills up to 5 if you plan on simming the games; all scouting is important. I don't think free agency is important unless you look to fill a position that doesn't develop well; namely kicker, punter, and tight end.

Re: just picked up the game, few questions

i don't particularly want 50/50 run/pass, I want about 50/50 RB1/RB2
