Kickoff (Ball Out Of Bounds)

I'm playing my first regular season game against the Cowboys, and the Cowboys kicker just kick the ball out of bounds on a kickoff. Of course there was a penalty.

I've never seen this penalty before in this game, has anyone else?

I've noticed it only happens when the kickoff specialist is dealing with wind, has 80 or lower in kick accuracy, and the kickoff was to the right or left.

Other than that, it's never happened.

I've seen it occasionally.

When the kicker kicks the ball out of bounds, it draws a penalty. that's because the returner never had a chance to return the football. It draws a 15 yarder.

i thought they just automatically started from their own 40
