Thanks for the reply. You're right, I've just played the game and it's a 4-3 zone blitzing scheme. They usually bring 5 guys (the 4 D-Liners and 1 blitz, either a LB or a DB). Their zones are usually 2 deep so it looks like a Cover 2 with an additional blitz on every play.

Superbowl report to follow soon...

Re: New Dolphins Career

Superbowl XLV (from San Diego):

Game Review

Seahawks 20
Dolphins 44

The final score doesn't show it but this was actually a close game until 5 minutes before the end (23-20 with 5:08 to play). Seattle was unable to run against our front seven (A.Joseph: 10-12) but Matt Hasselbeck was very accurate for most of the game. He finished 15-26 for 280 yds with 2 TDs and 3 INTs (2 of them at the end of the game). They had a WR (Branch) and a TE (O.Daniels) over 100 yds receiving. The 2 picks late in the 4th decided the game in our favour, as Ellis Hobbs returned one of them for a TD. John Scotland had a good game, going 16-24 for 244 yds, 2 TD and 1 INT (returned for a TD in Q2). His favorite target was Darrell Ogunyele (6-97, TD). Apart from the 2 Hasselbeck INTs the main difference was that unlike Seattle we were able to run the ball and took full advantage of that (Kasom 75 yds, Granderson 42, Johnson 40). Granderson also had a goalline rushing TD. Tony Bake had a good game as a situational pass rusher (2 sacks, 9 hurries). DeMario Waddell continues his incredible scoring run in the postseason with a 90 yd kickoff return TD in the 2nd quarter. I'm too lazy to look it up but he could easily be our top scorer in the playoffs, even without playing a single snap on offense.

Superbowl Champions: Miami Dolphins
Superbowl MVP (voted by me): John Scotland

Miami Dolphins hired Robert Wyman as their new Trainer.

Offseason Preview:
This will be a very strong FA class. There are several top-tier players at multiple positions. We have a lot of cap room so we might make a splash on a couple of them. Our biggest need is at Strong Safety. Unfortunately, this seems to be one of the weakest positions in both, free agency and draft. We're also looking to improve our WR group and our Offensive Line, which gave up the most sacks in the NFL last season. That is not a good sign for any team, espacially for a team with a injury prone QB (The Scotsman).
We'll have 2 late 1st rounders in the draft (27 & 32) and three 2nd rounders (39, 48, 64). I don't have any knowledge about this draft class (Zazzali, 3rd year), the only thing I know is that Nebraska OT Oshinowu is supposed to be the best Offensive Lineman in the game. With all those picks I have to ensure to get him somehow. More on the draft later...

I'm staying with the Fins. This is called 'Dynasty' and not 'How to rebuild a team in 3 years' or 'The Parcells Way'...

Re: New Dolphins Career

Offseason:

Free Agency:
cut WR Earnest Wilford
cut WR/KR Ted Ginn
decided not to place the franchise tag on any player this year
placed the Level 3 tender on RFA Josh Johnson (1st rd comp.)
placed the Level 1 tender on RFA Shawn Murphy (4th)
placed the Level 1 tender on RFA Donald Thomas (6th)
placed the Level 2 tender on RFA Hank Smithers (2nd)
signed WR Brandon Marshall as a FA (5 yrs, 44m) - he'll be our #1 WR for years to come
signed OLB Shawne Merriman as a FA (5 yrs, 29m) - took a gamble, great player but very injury prone
re-signed WR James Hardy as a FA (2 yrs, 5.4m) - he played well last season and earned himself a new contract
decided not to match a RFA bid by the Rams for DT Hank Smithers. We will receive the #61 pick in the draft as compensation

Draft Preview:
We have 6 picks between #27 and #64. This would be ideal for a rebuilding team as you can get 6 good players with it. But we are the Superbowl Champions so we're certainly not rebuilding. I'll probably package some of those picks to move up in the draft. At this point I'd rather have 2-3 elite players than 6 above average or good players.
There are 3 guys that I have on top of my list: OT Enoka Oshinowu, WR Skyler Cofield (6'5, has a Megatron comparison) and SS Demetrius Ponder (scouted him, he has 93 POT and we need a SS). If we pick in the 2nd round there are some CBs, a Guard and a DT that caught my eye. We'll see how it turns out...

Thanks. Sorry I had to turn down your idea to move to the worst team and rebuild them but I'm a diehard Dolphins fan and it would probably break my heart to leave...
