Re: Best team you could put together.

It depends on what you mean by best team. I consider my 15-1 team to be the best.
QB-Jay Cutler
HB-Laurence Maroney
FB-Don't remember
WR-Brandon Marshall
WR-Earl Bennett
TE-Jermichael Finley
T-Joe Staley & Jordan Gross
G-Ben Grubbs & Ben Noll (Sp?)
C-Samson Satelle
DE-Elvis Dumervil and Calais Campbell
DT-Amobi Okoye & Dre Moore
OLB-Xavier Abidi & Keith Rivers
MLB-D.J. Williams
CB-Champ Bailey & Jonathon Joseph
S-Craig Steltz & Dashon Goldson
K-Alexis Serna
P-Don't remember

I used the Shanahan zone blocking scheme and Rex Ryan's 46 system and beat every team but Jacksonville, surprising since I beat Tampa, Indiannapolis and New England. But this was on my 2008 season. I played as the Broncos and had 9-10 players go to the pro-bowl. I had great depth at DE, RB and WR but lacked depth at OLB and DT. Surprisingly Joseph and Goldson were two of my best defensive players.

Re: Best team you could put together.

I think I've put together the best squad I've ever built for my spread option PB. I did the same thing for my 4 wide PB; I'll post that one later. I used a customized 4-3 PB for the D. Just finished the 2011 year, went 14-2 with the Rams. Using the English path. I took McFadden in the 08 draft and traded Jackson for a 1st round pick in 2009. It paid off big, because I got Hines and Cox in back to back years to anchor my D line. On the downside, I had to suffer through a couple of crappy seasons in 08 and 09 and barely kept my job in order to make it happen.

QB: Darius Pryor (5k passing, close to 1k rushing)
HB: Darren McFadden
FB: JR Myers (also is the #2 TE and #4 WR, he's just that versatile)
X: Donnie Avery (free agent after the season, I'll probably have to let him go. 90 catches and 1200+ yds though)
H: "draft special" WR (98 catches, 1030 yds)
Z: Jamelle Lucas (82 catches, 1297 yds)
TE: Storm Stewart (he's a rookie this year, 80 catches and 1000+ yds with 12 TDs)
OL: Money saver "draft specials" from the 2nd day of the draft

LE: Raevon Hines
DT: 2 "draft specials"
RE: Xavier Cox

(Note: This is the first time I've ever had both Hines and Cox at the same time. Ridiculous sack numbers.)

LOLB: Dexter Knox
MLB: A draft special
ROLB: Devin Mayo (good thing I've got a good trainer to keep him upright)

CB: Juran Riley and a "draft special"
FS: "draft special"
SS: a converted FS "draft special." I don't need him to blitz much with Hines and Cox on the line.

The "draft specials" are the guys in the late rounds that are compared to really good players, making them cost-effective superstars basically. I'm saving money by picking up the draft specials, but all my top guys are still on their rookie deals. Someone's gonna have to go when the time comes--the cap just won't accommodate them all--but I'll enjoy the Super Bowl runs till then.

Re: Best team you could put together.

I went 19-0 last season so I would say without a doubt that would have to be my Best team.

RT

LE

DT
Tommie Harris 90ovr always injured
Dion Warden 88ovr

RE
Omarius Hendricks 89ovr

LOLB
Freddie Bates 90ovr

MLB

Kick returners were Ted Ginn and Darren Sproles. I think Ginn got 6 returns for TD's over the season.

I've started this season off 3-0. However I lost my DC Pepper Johnson and my immovable D of last season is getting 20 put on them.

Re: Best team you could put together.

Don't remember the whole team lineup, but I had a great 3-4 defense with a sensational group of linebackers that I don't think can be topped. Plus with Tom Brady at QB, it's needless to say I went undefeated.

ROLB: Shawne Merriman
LOLB: Keith Rivers
MLB 1: Patrick Willis
MLB 2: Adalius Thomas
