The Impact of Leadership

Ok, I recently got Leadership with my HC, maxing out my non-HC player development. I still need to get Strength Training with my HCs, but i wanted to know-what positions should I focus on with my HC to round out development. To this end, I simmed a game tracking awareness with my players.

Awareness:

QB-81 543/1000 to 82 198/1000
HB-90 1222/15000 to 91 12/1000
FB- 78 839/1000 to 78 899/100
WR

Andre Johnson-96 1113/3000 to 96 1408/3000
Jamal Binger- 85 768/1000 to 86 58/1500
Aundray Bender- 68 56/750 to 68 281/750

TE- 62 254/750 to 62 377/750

LT-maxed at 99
LG-maxed at 98
C- maxed at 99
RG-maxed at 94
RT-maxed at 97

Overall, you can see you need to put very little in offense intangibles unless you really want to. You can count on most positions to gain 200-300 points in awareness each game with the exception of FB and TE-that's really very good. Level 2 should be enough here, Level 3 for RB and TE.

LE-maxed at 90
RE-62 507/750 to 62 732/750
DT- 91 1299/2000 to 1561/2000
LOLB-86 692/1500 to 86 823/1500
MLB- 51 343/750 to 51 443/750
ROLB(injured)-90 70/1500 to 90 82/1000
CB1- 67 542/750 to 67 642/750
CB2- 61 231/750 to 61 242/750
FS-59 417/750 to 59 485/750
SS-63 475/750 to 63 593/750

Your DLine does well, almost as good as offense, Level 2-3 is enough. Linebackers, not much more than 100 points, Level 4 or 5, DBs-in the 0-150 range-I'd go Level 5.

K-71 257/750 to 71 281/750
P- 81 325/1000 to 81 344/1000

No doubt, level 5 for kickers.

Re: The Impact of Leadership

Learning:

All positions are maxed at learning with a few exceptions

WR-Aundray Bender-68 390/750 to 70 15/750
FS- 92 1832/2000 to 93 1602/2000
K- 76 386/1000 to 76 426/100
P- 75 254/750 to 74 266/750

All positions grow really fast in Learning, much more than the others. You might not want to put any points here, unless you really care that your kickers learn.

Physical Development

HB-Agility-97 1630/3000 to 1682/3000
WR-Bender- 94 528/2000 to 94 613/2000
LT-Accel- 82 408/1000 to 531/1000
C-Str- 93 1689/2000 to 94 364/1000
C-Accel-82 374/1000 to 82 490/1000
RG- Accel- 78 418/1000 to 78 478/1000
DT1- Accel- 98 602/3000 to 98 692/3000
DT2-Str-92 883/2000 to 1173/2000
LOLB- Strength- 72 507/750 to 72 702/750
LOLB-Accel- 83 154/1000 to 83 169/1000
CB1-Agil- 90 1336/1500 to 90 1408/1500
CB2-Speed-90 73/1500 to 90 80/1500
CB2- Accel-87 61/1500 to 87 68/1500
FS-Speed- 87 76/1500 to 87 79/1500
FS-Accel- 90 76/1500 to 90 79/1500
FS-Agil- 90 1198/1500 to 90 1246/1500
K-Kicking Power-253/3000 to 253/3000
P-Kicking Power-113/2000 to 125/3000

If you have any positions that aren't maxed on the physical ratings, put points in them. The speed ratings seem to progress very slow, though strength seems to do better than speed. For me, it'll be HB, WR, OLB, DB, and kickers-level 4 or 5 for all.

Re: The Impact of Leadership

good info. I'm not sure I've ever seen anybody else look into this.

I always worked:
fill out intangibles first, physicals second, don't bother with learning because only the very worst players fail to learn the play after 3 or 4 reps.

mostly it was because these guys come out of college, generally speaking, at about 80% or 90% of their full potential for physical attributes, but sometimes as bad as 30% or 40% of their full potential for intangibles, especially the late round steals.

with that in mind, even though physicals progress slower, wouldn't you still want to put your points into intangibles first because they've got a lot further to go in those skills?

Yes, I thought I made it clear that intangibles should be first.

RB 3
TE 3
DL 3
LB 4
DB 5
K 5
P 5

The rest-personal preference. They progress about 300 points minimum, so you might not need a lot until the others are taken care of.

RB
WR
LB
DB

Those should be taken to 4 or 5, given how hard it is to progress speed. The strength positions:

OL
DL

3 might be enough here, strength definitely progresses more than speed.

This is very helpful. Great info. One small thing I wanted to point out regarding the physical skills. Having high physical skills on your coaches for positions like RB, WR, TE, and DB can also help slow down physical attribute regression due to age.

Re: The Impact of Leadership

I recently played a game in which I beat the Colts 59-0 after I had gotten Intangibles 2 on Defense. The first example was based on a simmed Colts playoff game. I'll add in bold how the results were different for awareness:

QB-81 543/1000 to 82 198/1000/82-598
HB-90 1222/15000 to 91 12/100091-172
FB- 78 839/1000 to 78 899/10078-909
WR

Andre Johnson-96 1113/3000 to 96 1408/3000-1523-3000
Jamal Binger- 85 768/1000 to 86 58/1500-86 868/1500
Aundray Bender- 68 56/750 to 68 281/750696/750

TE- 62 254/750 to 62 377/750537/750

LE-maxed at 90
RE-62 507/750 to 62 732/750-612/750
DT- 91 1299/2000 to 1561/20001502/2000
LOLB-86 692/1500 to 86 823/1500884/1500
MLB- 51 343/750 to 51 443/750572/750
ROLB(injured)-90 70/1500 to 90 82/1000238/1500
CB1- 67 542/750 to 67 642/750741/750
CB2- 61 231/750 to 61 242/750430/750
FS-59 417/750 to 59 485/750548/750
SS-63 475/750 to 63 593/750680/750
K-71 257/750 to 71 281/750-261/3000
P- 81 325/1000 to 81 344/1000325/1000

I can't tell how much of a increase is due to playing the game and how much is due to getting defensive level 2 intangibles with my HC-still it was good getting a 200 point increase in awareness with my defensive players.

So what is your opinion on when leadership should be purchased?
