    Your Own Custom Roster

    UPDATED 01/25/2014

I have good news for PS3 owners.

I can create a custom roster for you, but have also included all the tools for you to do so yourself.

For XBOX owners we'd need some help as i don't have an xbox, but we can still use this guide to create the base file. Maybe Cage would be will to help as its a simple load into the database once completed.

You can edit coach ratings, playbook selection, play call type, coach position philosophy, all player ratings and potential.

You can import players from the past (1985-2013) over 20K database of former players.

Of course you can move players or coaches to different teams.

I've already have done the hard work for you and set it up in a relatively easy to read/edit spreadsheet.

The green / purple tabs are where you can make edits.

All columns that are black with white text should not be edited. They are either a formula or a cell that cant be changed for the upload to work.

Feel free to ask any questions about the spreadsheet if you have any issues.

Just fill out the spreadsheet and send to me or post in the thread and I'll do my best to create it for you.

I was curious if you could add all of the HOF players that you have unlocked or can unlocked, and put them all into Free agency, this way it could be a frenzy just to sign who you want.

      Yeah this is pretty easy.

Column D in the players tab set all players you want to be a FA as 1009.

Then set their salaries to 0. Columns: GG-GM, GP-GV.

*Note any player that has the team id as 1008 i cant use so don't change them.

Make any other edits you wish, save, zip, and post.

Basically yes, but there is an easy work around.

If you filter on column D for 1008, the first 13 Player IDs are fine to use. You can switch these players to any team and it wont cause an error. You'll see Butkus, but he is from an older version of this roster where I "made" him, what i really did was replace a player.

Only the Player Id for these HOFs cause an error.

So you can use their ratings in another players slot.

Say you wanted to add Gayle Sayers.

Find an RB to replace (Jeff Demps ID 14167) use their ID and Sayer's ratings.

Let me know if that makes sense i feel like when i explain it it sounds more complicated that in really is.

The same rule applies for HOF Coaches with the difference being the Team ID is 1023 and 1007.

What do you do with this spreadsheet so you are able to uploaded to the game?

There are 2 programs you need to be able to edit the rosters. (Bruteforce, EA Editor)

These can be found when looking in the madden roster forums.

The editor can import/export using csv files.

These CSV files don't translate the four letter table codes into a field name: example in my spreadsheet you'll see these in row 4 in the player tab.

              PFNA = Play First Name

Additionally, the export files aren't sorted in a logical sense. Awareness is in the 135th column where awareness potential is in the 215th.

So basically my spreadsheet translates and re-orders the export into a more logical flow.

Not sure how to edit ratings on here... It won't let you edit text on the spreadsheet. Any suggestions?

No problem, I'll create a step by step shortly.

I'm adding a couple of things to my spreadsheet so basically all you'll have to do is copy, paste, and upload into the editor.

That is odd. I didn't put any restrictions on the spreadsheet it self.

Try downloading the spreadsheet and saving on your desktop. Then re-open.

It should be as easy as changing a number from say 77 to 90.

If that doesn't work pm with your email and i'll send you a direct copy of the spreadsheet.

The step by step was pretty long and I've been getting questions so i thought it might be easier to create a video. It isn't exactly high quality but walks you step by step through how to use: Bruteforce, the EA Editor, and my Excel file.

Thanks I appreciate it, but I'm never fully satisfied with a product and have made an upgrade (hopefully a significant one)

I have some down time at work as my company was recently bought out so i've been able to be distracted a little more than usual.

I had seen in the madden roster threads that they had a bunch of historical rosters and thought that would a great thing to bring to head coach.

I took the rosters from Cursive's Classics and converted them into Head Coach Rosters and added them into my head coach excel file. The Classics rosters don't have potential ratings so I used the player rating +10.

Basically every significant player since 1985 is in this file and you can import them into your roster with a few simple clicks.

I posted a video on the how to, it is the third link (the first two videos also included)

The dropbox location of the excel file is posted here:
