Finally a 2000-Yard Rusher!!!

Who woulda thunk that out of all the great RBs, like Ozzy Jones, Clinton Portis, Reggie Bush, Darren McFadden, Ray Rice, Ronnie Brown, etc., it was Jerious Norwood of the Falcons that was finally able to achieve the 2000-yard rushing mark for me??!?! He finished the season with 2225 yards, 5.0 average, and 19 TDs. Ronnie Brown had come closest with 1800+ yards for the Dolphins. I just love watching Norwood run...north-south and hitting the hole quick. It was just so frustrating playing with the slashers like Ozzie, who would run east-west and lose 4-5 yards constantly and put the offense in the hole right at the get go. Those 40+ yard runs are fun to watch, but come way too few for an efficent offense. A typical Ozzie stat line: 30 attempts for 27 yards. UGH!!!!!

I agree, I love North-South runners. I've gotten a 2,000 yard season with Ronnie Brown in a zone blocking scheme. Ronnie just gets upfield without messing around.

Who are the best north-south runners in the game? And how do you tell?

Not sure how are the best, but I would think anybody who has good trucking and also lower elusiveness. I always preferred trucking any way but with guys that are good in both, Adrian Peterson for example, tend to sway towards juking and spinning all the time instead of justovong forward. I love real life Peterson, but HC09, I will stick with my 245lb plus backs. Power running just works better with a pure power runner.
