    Question for all here

If a head coach game was made for pro football, but it was not an NFL game, would you play it anyway?

Imagine a game with the best of HC06 and HC09, and more! But each year the cities were randomly chosen from states to coincide with whatever city and team name you chose to create a completely new roster to begin the franchise. (No NFL license would mean no actual players or actual team names etc).

Still a 32 team league. Still a 16 game season. Still a 3 phase playoff and a 4th and final league championship (like a superbowl obviously).....

You choose your colors and team name. Maybe even have fake logos to choose from as well (not pathetic generic ones)

    No 30 season limit.

Uniquely generated drafts ever single season forever.

Frostbite engine (or closest one available to it)

    Would you buy it?

Has there been any movement on this? Is this going to be a thing?

We'd all buy it-but the only one who is likely to make such a game is EA. There just don't seem to be a lot of other companies making football games, and won't until/if the EA/NFL contract ends.

I was under the impression that merockyandsnow was talking about an independently produced game without an NFL license. It's quite possible I was mistaken.

I don't know the first thing about how hard it would be to program a game like this but it is a solid idea that I think many people would be interested in. I don't think you could make a fortune but if you were to set up a Patreon account and provide weekly status updates and post your idea at a number of sports related sites I'm guessing you could get a good number of people to pledge to help support you while you made the game. Many of those same Patreon supporters would also most likely be interested in playtesting for you once the project got that far.
