Re: Dallas Cowboys War Room

The only TE McCarthy got any legit production out of was Jermichael Finley. Nearly a decade ago.

And not from a lack of investment (Jared Cook, Martellus Bennett, Jimmy Graham..)

My guess is, you'll be fine with a blocker and a guy that can catch one in the endzone once and awhile.

.. easy for me to say though, watching the stiffs that the Packers have had. Probably another story for you guys, watching Witten all those years.

Same 'ol same 'ol, just a different season & different head coach. It's disheartening & gutwrenching to watch.

Re: Dallas Cowboys War Room

It's one game... no pre-season, change with camp.

I'm not worried.

We always have trouble with McVay.

The fact that we had a chance at the end was great. They pounded us... which was disheartening to see.

I'm hopeful that it's just more of we have no answer for McVay than a sign of things to come.

While saying all this, I do wish we made a deal work for Adams. He was unbelievable in week 1.

McCarthy + Post Season = gutwrenching

He's good for 10 wins.. just not when it really matters.

Re: Dallas Cowboys War Room

McCarthy, not taking the FG last week to tie the game late.
Against Atlanta, He fakes two punts on his own side of the
field. Gifting six points. Late in the game down 9 elects to go
for 2. It made no sense.

For a guy who isn't fully involved on each side of the ball.
He has no feel for the game. It seems like he is trying
really hard to be the anti Jason Garrett. I am all for aggression.
But down and distance still dictate a lot of your decisions.
He had a good record in Green Bay, he also had the best
QB in the NFL for most of his time there.

Small sample size, but not impressed with McCarthy.

Defensively, the 3-4 isn't working. We have true 4-3 D Lineman
all over the place. We only have 1 real 3-4 OLB Aldon Smith.
They said this defense is multiple. I don't see it. Everson Grifin
and D Law are not OLB's.

Re: Dallas Cowboys War Room

I agree...the new staff is a dog and pony show.

Same inexplicably milquetoast offense...why Moore was kept, I don't know.
To keep Dak comfortable? Maybe the QB should be a bit more sound between the ears.

No reason to switch to a 3-4...and it's obviously not producing any QB pressure.

Our DEs are pass-rushers...not flat-covering, run-reading 3-4OLBs

Besides, the 3-4 should allow multiple rush fronts, as you have 4LBs to choose from to add to the pass rush...but I don't see it. At all.

A flex defense that features both 34 and 43 sounds great...but we're not getting that.

And they're getting gutted up the middle. Chiefs fans said Poe had little to offer, and they might be right.

NO team in this league can survive with NO pass rush AND being soft up the middle.

Re: Dallas Cowboys War Room

We blamed the poor OLine play in Week 1 on the fact that the Rams' DLine was so good...

Well, Washington didn't have much of an issue with the LA pass rush.

Not good.
