The Bad News. We are one beat up team. The injury bug that we dodged the past 2 years has finally caught up to us.

I think it's time to play all the backups and see what they can do because big changes are needed on defense next season.

Yes Bob Sanders is partly responsible but you can't blame it all on him. Regardless of what plays he calls in the end the players are responsible for their assignments and carrying them out.

1-7 in games decided by less than a touchdown. Only win was against Minnesota to start the season.

We should have beaten Minnesota the second time we played them. Likewise, we should have beaten the Bears last night. We also should have beaten Carolina, as we dominated the second half and it took a huge kick return and a ridiculous catch by Smith to win that game. Right there, that would put us at 8-7 and Minnesota and Chicago would also be 8-7. We'd have the tiebreaker and would just need to beat Detroit to win the division.

Of course, we also led against Houston and Jacksonville in the fourth quarter of those games, and we could have and probably should have beaten Tennesee as well.

It's just been one of those seasons. I mean, look at last night's game... the fluke play on the punt sets up the Bears' first TD, then the fourth down converted by a fingernail, and then the coin toss off the helmet... how much crazy crap can a team get in one season.

We will be back next year.

So what do you think are some needs that we SHOULD address in Free Agency and needs that we should address in the draft?

I think Ted needs to stop with the window-shopper BS and make a SERIOUS attempt to bring in some FA. Especially on the Defensive side. You've already got Woodson and Harris campaigning to Thompson to bring in some help on the defense. I really hope we make a serious run at either Albert Haynesworth or Julius Peppers, who would be somebody that can take away double teams from Aaron Kampman.

This team is not that far at all, imo. Like Pfunk said, this has been a crazy season for us and we left a LOT of W's on the field.

Not sure who's coming out from College but we need to get a player that we know who can make an impact RIGHT AWAY. Justin Harrell has been a disappointment because he's never on the field and my support for him is starting to wear thin. AJ Hawk has not played like a Top 5 pick and we need him to get back to Rookie year form when he was making tackles, getting INTs and forcing fumbles.
