It is being reported the Cleveland Browns are planning to talk to Mike Shanahan about their open position. Shanahan could be intrigued by the power that the Cleveland job would offer and the chance to work with young quarterback Brady Quinn. The word is Shanahan is as open to coaching in 2009 as he is intrigued by the idea of talking the season off.

Shanahan as GM and Coach is a terrible idea.

However, a Pioli/Shanahan or McKay/Shanahan is definitely the best situation out there.

And I would love to see him work with either Quinn, or if he could tame Crazy Horse Anderson.

Well, according to what they ran on the ticker on ESPN during Sportscenter, if we get Pioli, he wants to bring in Kirk Ferentz to be the coach, which would be interesting

ESPN has been reporting that Mangini is the leading canidate for the Browns.

What your thoughts on him Browns fans? Do you want him, or would you prefer someone else?

I dunno, I've never really been a big fan of the "lets hire a coach that just got fired" mindset, but at least Mangini wasn't doing terrible with the Jets. As long as we get one of the main candidates, I'll be happy

I would like a coach that has a visible passion for coaching. Cowher had it, Shanahan kinda has it, Jon Gruden has it... Crennel was thinkin' Arbys.

Mangini looks like another fat ex-Belichick clown.

That said, I didn't watch much of the Jets games since I live in Ohio.

I think Peppers would avoid that at all costs. He wants to play for an automatic playoff team. We aren't there yet.
