Jermaine Phillips at linebacker is an interesting option. I mean, he's about Derrick Brooks' size, and is faster, not to mention a decent tackler. Angelo Crowell is pretty good as well, and Barrett Ruud is awesome. I wish we could have gotten Haynesworth, and retained Buchanon. It sucks we let Jovan Haye slip away. Him + Haynesworth would have been scary. But I think our front seven will be alright, especially if we land Peria Jerry in the draft.

I think in terms of offense, we need a WR to compliment Bryant, and just let Josh Johnson play most of the pre-season, and build him up. We have a decent RB committe (Ward, Graham, Caddy, maybe Clifton Smith to catch out of the backfield or something), and a great young O-Line.

We have the tools, we just need a certain something to push us deep into the postseason.

I agree to a point, except about Jermaine Phillips being a good tackler. If you watch the last 2-3 seasons, he is an absolute missile when honing in on the ball carrier, but he doesnt wrap up. He lowers his head too early and hits to hurt, or make a big impact, not to tackle. 2 or 3 years ago, he was an absolute liability in tackling. He has goten better, but not great, and it started to rub off on Tanard Jackson. If you want games from last year and tow or three years ago, watch any play that went for more than 5 yards, i guarantee he was in there missing a tackle.

I have hope for him though. What we have to realize is he (nor anyone) is #55. Its funny, we all went from worried about offense (199X - 2008) and now we are worried about defense.

If we get average production of out McCown and we can land a good DT, LB and depth in the secondary, we can field a good team.

Heh, I meant to say hitter, not tackler. If he can incorporate some wrapping up into his Lynch-esque hits, he could probably force fumbles all day.

Interesting signing of Leftwich. Im kind of neutral on it, but it makes me happy as long as it keeps us from reaching for a QB at #19

Im pretty "meh" on our first day draft. Before it started i said the worst thing we could do was trade up to take Freeman. Granted we only gave up a 6th rounder, but were we really that worried Denver was going QB?

I didnt want Freeman to start with, but i think giving up other draft picks for him was not a wise decision.
