2009 Kansas City Chiefs

Figured today was as good a day as any to start the new thread.

New GM, new HC, new QB. Should be an interesting season no matter what happens.

Re: 2009 Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs won their grievance with LJ, so they don't have to worry about the $3.5 million in guaranteed money he was due next season. This should signal the end of LJ here in KC. We can either release him outright, or try and trade him. Either one would have been very tough to do with the $3.5 million in guaranteed money hanging around.

Forgot all about LJ. Interesting. I wonder who bites. He's still insanely talented but he's got major issues too.

Perfect fit for the Raiders

What are the Chiefs going to do with the defense now that Gunther Cunningham is gone?

Re: 2009 Kansas City Chiefs

Seriously? This is it for us chiefs fans? 5 replies?

Anyways, im excited about the season(as i am every year). But HOPEFULLY, this is a year we set a good foundation and have a franchise quarterback, and some solid young players on defense. Im SICK and tired of this 2 or 3 year crap. Im sick of a ****ton of new players everyyear. Put a solid foundation of young guys, and plug in some vets for 2 or 3 years to fill the rest of the roster.

It sucks, cause the year i remember really being into the chiefs, was 93. I was 9 or 10 at the time, and understood the game pretty well. And we make it too the AFC Championship game. The go to the playoffs in 94, 95, 97.

Now, we win 2 - 6 games a year.

Damnit, i hope Pioli knows what the hell he is doing. And God help us if Matt Cassell is another Scott Mitchell.

GO CHIEFS

That's because there's no catchy tag line!

Re: 2009 Kansas City Chiefs

***fighting off the cricket noises***

from ESPN:

Dwayne Bowe: Bowe, who caught 156 passes in his first two NFL seasons, has been relegated to the third string. You would think it is just a temporary move by the coaching staff to teach Bowe -- who has talked too much and dropped too many passes in the past -- a lesson. But he better play well or his stay in the doghouse will likely continue.
