Patriots traded with the Ravens so the Ravens go pick at #23 and take Oher. Pats got #26 and somethin else.

Then the Pats traded down again with the Packers. Packers gave them the #41, and our two third round picks. (one was the Jets, from the Favre trade)

So we basically gave up two third round picks to move up like 14-15 spots and take a guy our staff was in love with.

Thompson said they had been contemplating for weeks a way we could trade and take Matthews.

The fact that he traded back INTO the 1st Round has me more shocked then anything?

Yeah, Thompson has only traded up for a player, ONCE! And that was a small trade, he traded up in the 4th round a little to take Jeremy Thompson.

This was a HUGE tradeup, jumped like 14 spots from the 2nd to the 1st. Unspeakable for Ted but that shows how much he and the staff like Matthews.

Couldn't be more happy about both picks. I hate to give so much attention to Matthews but that just shows how thrilled and comfortable I am with Raji.

Exactly. Now I actually looking forward to seeing Dom Capers work his magic on this new 3-4 Defense.

Ey PPM... I know you're out here...

Do you have NFL Sunday Ticket, or are there any sports bars you would suggest to watch the games at?

I just moved out here from the GB area.

Check here.

http://www.packer-bars.com/Home_Page.html

Make sure to start checking before the season starts and go there to verify. Sometimes the list can be outdated.

I was in DC in 2002 and found a Packer bar. It was up the hill to the NE of the Capitol somewhere. It was more of a soccer and rugby place but it did have the Packer game on with a core group of fans.
